It's winter and very cold. I'm bundling up in heavy coat, scarf, earmuffs, and mittens and getting ready to be picked up for a ride to school. I'm constantly chided for being late or not getting ready on time, I think by my mother.

Then I'm at school and I'm given an assignment to work with a girl with a very bizarre birth mutation---she had three eyes, her left eye resembles marbled glass as does the one in the center of her face where her nose would be. The bridge of the nose is still there, but instead of nostrils is that weird eye. I don't know if I can work with her or not because it just freaks me out, but I tell the instructor that I will try.

Then I'm outside and looking up at the sky. The whole sky is covered by a gray sheet cloud except for one opening where the sun is shining through. There are flocks of birds circulating this opening and the opening seems to be a swirling vortex. The birds fly into it and get as far as the top but can't go any further above the cloud. They seem to be pecking at things in the swirling vortex, food particles perhaps. I wonder if they can't go beyond the cloud is because of the high altitude and wonder why they are so drawn to that area.
