The setting is a big, old wooden house. I'm standing on a staircase where I can see above. Walking above are two or three people and one of them is Tom Cruise. He's not wearing any pants and I see his penis and find it odd that he's walking around like that and wonder if he's even aware of it.

Then I'm taking care of a girl with a severe learning disability. I'm sharing this responsibility with another woman and we take turns while one goes out to do a part-time job or shopping. At one point, the girl's father comes in and is upset that the girl isn't learning enough. We show him pads with the letters of the alphabet on them and she is to put them in order. She hasn't done this yet and he accuses us of not spending enough time on her to help. I think he's right and try to convince him that the tasks are difficult for her instead.

    As to Tom, I think you have to do some free association. What and how do you think of Tom Cruise? What do you think of ... well, let's not go there. (I'm don't need to know or want to, but it's obviously something to follow up on.)

    It's strictly a hunch, but I think Tom sort of shape-shifts to the father. You are the little girl, your "learning disability" being that you still don't have answers what to do about the job situation you recently said you were in. The father may or may not be right in his opinion. (Perhaps you're being too hard on yourself. It's easy when you're jobless.) There's no doubt, though, that you're not quite telling him the truth. Is there something in your situation that you really know but are evading? Something you should be doing, some option you should be exploring?

    Best I can say is, if this were my dream this is what I'd be looking at.

    PS: It also occurs to me that that father "has faith" that there will be a "breakthrough" and is displeased that there has not been. And, like a real parent in that situation, he may be asking too much, too soon. Still, in your own mind you're being less than fully honest with him.

    I think the part about the girl and the father reflects my inner lack of self-confidence. The authority figure is judging the help.

    As for Tom Cruise, I view him as an insane authority figure. Google Tom Cruise and Scientology and you'll see he believes that he's here to "clear" the planet. I feel that part is more about our insane political system here in the U.S.
