When you first get into serious dream talk like meanings and such, you inevitably stumble across lucid dreaming and astral projection. Now lucid dreaming is fair enough, but when you come to astral projection, it's understandable if your a bit skeptical. I nevertheless read on a bit about astral projection and methods to induce it because I thought "hey, if this IS real then it would be freaking cool to at least try." For about 3 or 4 weeks I went through the meditation of trying to induce astral projection but I didn't believe I was getting close, I did however enjoy the meditation, so I kept it up but not as intensely as I had been. So for the past week and a half I had been have doing this meditation, but it's been a busy week and a half so I've been to tired to do it effectively. UNTIL TODAY!! Monday and Thursday are my early morning days, every other day is a sleep in day, but on this fine Tuesday I set my alarm for 5.30am because I had a bunch of downloads going through the night and I was hoping they would be finished so I could watch them. Anyway they weren't done, so I went back to bed. Now at first I lied awake just wondering my mind (very half-hearted meditation) until I ended up in a dream, and although I was dreaming, I was still rather aware that I was lying in bed so I didn't think I was deep enough asleep to lucid dream so I just observed the dream. Anyway after a bit I woke up...or that's what I thought..I was lying in bed, exactly the way I felt I was lying in bed and my eyes were closed, and yet I was observing a wall where my closet should have been with posters on it. At first I just observed the posters and then I was like "HEY I DON'T HAVE POSTERS IN MY ROOM! I'M DREAMING!" Then almost as if a thought from my sub-conscious came to surface, in my head I was like "I can go out of body!" That's when it started. I was awake for sure, my eyes were closed but I was vibrating, kind of like the feeling you get if you've done chi meditation and the person says "now imagine a warm, thick honey is flowing through your body. Warming your toes, your feet etc..etc..." But this feeling was shaking me right to the centre (bare in mind this all happened in about the space of 20 seconds) then the auditory hallucinations I'd read about began, it sounded as if a plane was taking off right next to me, crossed with...an intergalactic elevator?? Well that's the best description I can come up with. Anyway, I was excited, I was thinking "It's actually freaking happening!" I knew that if I let it take over, I would be out of my body and yet... I panicked. I got scared, I thought "what if I can't get back into my body?!" and then I thought "NO! I don't want this to happen now!" and it all died down. It is comforting to know that I'm always in full control when the process is happening. It was 6.30 when that experience was over, I jumped out of bed and ran to my brother's room screaming "IT's real! It's real!" At first he didn't believe me but I told him "Would I really come into your room at 6.30 on a day I can sleep in just to lie to you?! What would that achieve brother?!" He believed me and now I'm keen to try the whole process again and conquer my nerves. I'm going to try the method of waking up early again. Seriously people, get on it, this stuff's amazing!
That's interesting about how you set your alarm, got up and went back to bed. Some people do that purposely so they can have lucid dreams; people tend to have more REM sleep in the morning after the sun has come up then at night. Out of Body Experiences are related to lucid dreams and people tend to have OBEs when they go directly from being awake to being in REM sleep. So you timed it well. By the way, I finished the page on how to have lucid dreams.
Hey great page, it's working well for me. Oh and on an updated note, I got into the vibrational state again the other day (also in the early morning) and I let it wash over me and then my whole body went limb and I felt my tongue going down the back of my throat, it didn't panic me and I moved my head to the side so I didn't swallow my tongue. The noises didn't scare me and I didn't feel the fear of last time. I just went with it albeit there was no OBE for me. It simply ended. what a pity.
astral projections come natural to me an i can move stuff in the room i'm in but it is also very dangourus if you get caught up in the earths energy you can die if you can't get back to being concouis
I don't think you can die from astral projection unless you were going to die anyway. If you don't have anything physically wrong with you, I don't think you need to worry. People who have had near death experiences have had sensations of leaving their body, but the feeling of astral projection didn't cause them to be near death; there was something else wroing with them.
i mean it won't kill you physically but it will make you feel weak remember there is a bunch of things we don't know about our planet.
Shuk, what you heard was actually your spirit re-entering your body...thats the sound you will hear..freaky but neat...no need to be afraid tho ever read Sylvia Browne? You should
