I'm in a two-story house and a group of carpenters are fixing up the old floors that are worn and cracking. I walk into a room that they had "fixed" and the bad spot had been patched over with rounded slats of wood. The patch is sunk in about an inch and a table stands over it, crooked because of the rut in the floor. I go downstairs and a man has a pair of glasses. He hands them to me and I try them on. They appear to be sunglasses when worn. There is a vat of food cooking. One of the carpenters fixed something to eat. He eats a bowl of small square, hollow, metal pegs that resemble washers for screws or bolts.

Then the scene changes and I see the carpenter at an airport waiting to purchase a ticket. He is throwing small gold nuggetts at himself and they are sticking to him as of he is magnatized. Then I'm wathcing a min-documentary that shows how things are recycled including metal and mercury and they are putting these toxic metals into medications such as penicillin. This is a good thing, according to the film. End.

This dream seems to have a lot to do with changing things and fixing things. Is there something in your life that you think should be changed?

It would be interesting to know if you are in a two story house now. Is this where you live? If so, are repairs a pending project?

When we hire someone else to do our home repair projects, we tend to give them a more critical eye than if we were to do the project ourselves. After all, we hire "professionals" and yet, sometimes we nit-pick their every move [or maybe we don't but generally someone else in our life may well be doing so.]

One of those carpenters sounds like he would "eat the kitchen sink"; his appetite for what he handles as a profession could mean he's starving, even while doing what he likes.

The recycling part of your dream could be just that. If you are looking at pending repairs or redecorating, perhaps your dream is trying to show you how to use things at hand, and "save money", ergo, the "gold" sticking to the man.

I don't currently live in a two-story house, although I have as a kid. I often have dreams that take place in a big wooden structure, either a house, school, or some other institution. Many times they are in disrepair and in dire need of fixing up. I think the worn and sagging floor is a metaphor for not feeling grounded or totally secure.

And yes, I do want to change something...a job.

    Interesting interpretations.

In dreams, a house can symbolize the self.
