Last night I had a dream that I was in a high school hallway just about full of high school kids in it and I was in the middle of a conversation with someone and they pointed down to the other end of the hallway (for some reason the lights are off or dimmed I cant remember which) and I started running in that direction then I started growling at everyone in the hall, I then started running on all fours and my vision was tinted red a little bit and all I had on my mind was kill that person. In the dream I knew exactly who I was after, but now I can't remember who I was trying to kill. As I was running I was still growling at the other students in the hall and I knew I was intimidating them because each and every person looked horrified when they looked at me. Then when I was nearing the end of the hall I woke up. If this helps for the past month in my dreams when I want to run faster then on my two legs I run on all fours and the past couple nights I've been growling as I run on all-fours. What exactly does all this mean?
There is a long thread here on the forum about running on all fours on dreams. It seems to be common. You might want to have a look at it. Since you talk about "high school kids", I'm guessing that you are long past high school age. A dream about being back in school can have to do with learning from something from your past. Being on all fours and growling like an animal makes me think this has something to do with your instinctive drives and a release of anger that you have been repressing. Maybe something from your childhood is coming back to you. The fact that recently you have been dreaming about running on all fours and growling makes me think that something has come up in your life that is bringing up strong emotions and memories from your past.
A dream of being in school usually refers to the school that we all attend. It is the school of life where we learn life’s many lessons. However, in this dream, you are not in any classroom. Thus, you seem to have learned what you need to learn at this stage of development. You are surrounded by students; thus, you may be their teacher. You run towards the darker end of the hallway. The darkness probably refers to the darkness that is associated with the unknown world of the collective unconscious (in a Jungian sense) or the darkness of the shaman’s lower realm. Either way, this is good. As you begin running, you dropped to all fours and were growling as an animal would. This is another good sign. Becoming a wild animal seems to be fairly common experience of the shaman in various cultures. “In the Americas, in particular, shamans say they routinely become powerful wild animals such as jaguars, crocodiles, and owls.” 'For I Am the Black Jaguar' | Emory in the World | Emory University This animalistic transformation of the shaman is probably similar to those where a person dreams that he or she is half animal – such as a werewolf. This may also help to explain the fascination that many have with movies, novels and such about werewolves, vampires etc. The red tint is associated with the first chakra. There is someone that you (as a wild animal) want to kill. But who is this person? I believe that the person is your ego – or what is left of him. The death of the ego is a common experience of the shaman. Hope this helps.
