When I was a child I started having underwater dreams where I am deep underwater in the ocean, it's dark and there are really strange creatures swimming around me.

In the first deep water dream I ever remember, I was looking up towards the surface and there was a HUGE sperm whale floating above me much closer to the surface. It was not that close to me but it was so huge that there would be no way for me to swim around it to get to the surface. I was about the size of a pea next to this thing. It didn't see or react to me but I felt completely overwhelmed. I have had a fascnation with sperm whales and whales in general all my life because of that dream.

Breathing is never an issue when I'm having an underwater dream. It's almost as though I'm in my element.

The most recent one I had was a few days after I gave birth to my first baby. I was in the deepest part of the ocean and these very alien looking bioluminescent creatures were swimming all around me. Aside from their light, it was mostly pitch dark. I wasn't really scared, just completely fascinated as to what these creatures were.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had any idea what these recurring underwater dreams are supposed to mean. Thanks.

Here is some information about the meaning of dreams about water.

Dreams about water are one of the most common kinds of dreams that pregnant women have. Maybe your post-pregnancy dream came from leftover thoughts from your pregnancy.

The part about aliens could have to do with the fact that once you gave birth your baby was no longer a part of you, he became an individual person, an "alien" to you, in a way. You were fascinated because in waking life you were curious about what kind of person your child will grow up to be.
