Ok, ever since i was a little girl i had these dreams about a black figure. At first it wouldn't do anything it would just watch me. As i grew up it would get closer and it would touch me and of course i couldn't move of talk. But someone just told me to pray so i did and it went away for almost a year now. Now I'm getting that can't move or speak and something bad is near me feeling but the figure isn't there its black goo. Its usually on me. I really just want this crap to stop what does it mean?
I think the black figure/goo represents a traumatic memory or feeling, something you can't face in waking life. The next time you dream about it, can you try to ask it what it is trying to tell you?
A black figure, because we usually understand this to refer to a human shape, can simply represent a very negative and unenlightened idea or way of thinking which appears as rational. At first this way of thinking may have given the impression of keeping watch over you. [Sometimes thinking negatively seems protective because if we expect nothing, we do not end up disappointed.] As you grew up – or as time went by – this negative way of thinking closed in on you or got to you. By touching you, it can be understood that a very negative way of thinking made an emotional impact upon you so that you became somewhat paralyzed, that is, unable to make a move to free yourself from this type of thinking. Neither are you able to speak, that is, unable to address or deal with this negative aspect of yourself. [Note that prayer is often used to deal with a negative “spirit” or a spirit of anger or hate etc. But the prayer simply removed the form representing the negative way of thinking (the black figure) from your dreams. It has not been removed from your psychological make-up. Perhaps it is time to deal with the issue and not just try to brush it away with prayer.] The black goo would simply represent a negative, unenlightened/unintelligent idea that can stick to you. [That thinking negatively is protective could be such an idea.] You are aware of an idea being a “bad idea” but now it can no longer be seen as a rational one. (there is no human shape or figure now) [Note the expression, “it figures”, meaning it makes sense. You have an idea which no longer “figures”.]
