12-07-07 I'm at a beach and the water is murky. The weather is overcast and cool. I decide to go in for a dip anyway and swim out toward some kind of barrier. It almost resembles a fence with a gate, or opening. I swim beyond this barrier and through the opening and right away I feel something stab into my right foot. I swim ashore and a young man comes up to me and tells me I have a ? in my foot. I don't remember what he said it was, but it was a black hook of some kind that was wrapped around the bottom of the foot and stuck in the top at the side. I can't remember now if it was organic or not, but the young man pulled it out of my foot and it started bleeding. But it wasn't my foot that started bleeding, but his in the same spot on his foot as my wound. I don't realize this at first until a dozen beetle bugs show up and surround the wound. end
The barrier sounds a bit like those things they put up to stop sharks getting too close to the beach. It might be connected with you exploring your emotions a bit, but reflect a worry about going too deep, beyond the barriers or shark nets - and perhaps, because it's not you that is really hurt in the end, it might be showing you that it might not be as bad as you think, or maybe it's only the male part of your self that might be hurt by such explorations?
That does resonate. I tend to hold back and not express myself emotionally outward. It was the way I was brought up. Funny how things stay with you throughout adulthood. As for the male part of me, I see it as a rescuer or savior archetype. Hmmmm....savior? Jesus was nailed to a board. The dream character bleeds from a hook wound that was in my foot. Interesting.
