I forgot the beginning but i do remember the end part and i was laying in bed and this lady jumped up on the bed and started spraying me with a garden hose. I didn't know why and i was kinda freaking out because there was water everywhere and my computer was laying on the bed. Then i calmed down and she started spraying my head with water and was trying to wash my hair it seemed like. Then she stopped and told me to go in the bathroom and take a shower. I walked in and the light didn't work, the light never seems to work in that bathroom in any of my dreams but in real life it works fine. Plus the door never really closes all the way, it always flies back open and you really have to slam it shut for it to stay shut. I took off my clothes and turned on the water. I looked at the door and i could see through it on my side but nobody on the other side could see through it, it was like on of those one sided mirrors but in door form if you know what i'm talking about. My sister was laying on the bed looking through my computer. I seemed very nervous about that, i though she would find something she wasn't suppose to see or i don't know, there's nothing on my computer that i would be nervous about or anything. I was just scared and i couldn't run out there because i had to take a shower first. So i turned on the water and took a quick shower. It was really dark since it was near nighttime and the lights didn't work. I had a very creepy feeling in there but i couldn't pin point what it was, it just felt weird. I jumped out of the shower, wrapped two towels around me and ran out of the room to grab my computer. Then i woke up.
I think this dream has to do with feeling guilty about something or feeling "dirty" emotionally or spiritually and needing to cleanse yourself somehow. There is the symbolism of being sprayed with a garden hose and using the bathroom to take a shower. The door in the bathroom not closing and your nervousness about your sister looking at your computer could have to do with a fear of a secret being revealed.
Dear DreamGirl, Hi, I'm Charlotte. Marcia has offered some excellent insight to your dream. I'd like to break it down a little further in the hopes that it will help. Much of the symbology of this dream speaks of being unconscious about your emotions and how to release them effectively to create balance in your life. You forget the beginning but I think it’s safe to assume you were in a house, which represents that the issue the dream is trying to reveal is in your own psyche. “i was laying in bed and this lady jumped up on the bed and started spraying me with a garden hose.” Bedrooms/Beds represent sexuality, intimacy, rest, safety, comfort and the unconscious mind. This would point to the possibility that you are truly unaware of how deep the issue is, although you may remember an event in your past that has continued to put you in a condition of distress, even if you don’t think about it much or feel that you’ve moved beyond it. A lady aggressively jumps on the bed and sprays you with a garden hose. That you don’t know the lady is significant. She represents your feminine, nurturing, emotional side, but you don’t seem to be very connected or comfortable in recognizing your true feelings. The hose is the first symbol that represents the flow of emotions. While the hose may be associated with male sexuality, it’s important to focus on the idea that a hose is used to “control” the flow of water (emotions). This sequence in the dream is a bit overwhelming, with the lady illustrating that you are controlling your emotions to the point of internal upheaval and is suggesting you let go and express your personal truth, most importantly to yourself. “I didn't know why and i was kinda freaking out because there was water everywhere and my computer was laying on the bed.” The outpouring of water (emotion) has created a mess which is unsettling to you. The computer represents the mind, memory knowledge, insight, work that needs to be done and communication. What this is saying is that you are more comfortable operating more from your intellect than your emotions, as the water is “threatening” to the computer. There is work to be done and insights that need to be integrated into your understanding of yourself, but it seems you would be more comfortable putting it out of your mind than allowing old stuff to come up. “Then i calmed down and she started spraying my head with water and was trying to wash my hair it seemed like. Then she stopped and told me to go in the bathroom and take a shower.” Your own behavior in the dream is a major clue to relax and not be so concerned with the outcome of situations, but focus on being centered emotionally. She is now focused on your head, again pointing your attention to the overuse of intellect. The head represents one’s state of mind and hair represents thoughts or ideas. She seems to be trying to wash it…or perhaps eliminate any old debris (outdated beliefs that no longer serve you) to give you a fresh start. She then directs you to take a shower, a process that represents cleansing on Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual levels. Bathrooms point to the need to release old thoughts or clogged emotions, with the desire for privacy, where no one can see what you’re going through. “I walked in and the light didn't work, the light never seems to work in that bathroom in any of my dreams but in real life it works fine. Plus the door never really closes all the way, it always flies back open and you really have to slam it shut for it to stay shut.” The light not working is another indication of not wanting to be conscious of the situation or see it plainly. This is a repetitive image in your dreams, so you may want to ask yourself what you don’t want to see about yourself. Also ask to what degree do you hold your emotions in or hold on to old hurts. Doors represent opportunities. The door in your dreams never wants to close (closure) and you have to force it to stay shut after it flies back open (inviting you to take the opportunity to resolve the issue). "I took off my clothes and turned on the water. I looked at the door and i could see through it on my side but nobody on the other side could see through it, it was like on of those one sided mirrors but in door form if you know what i'm talking about." Again, the need for emotional privacy while viewing what’s happening outside of you. “My sister was laying on the bed looking through my computer. I seemed very nervous about that, i though she would find something she wasn't suppose to see or i don't know, there's nothing on my computer that i would be nervous about or anything. I was just scared and i couldn't run out there because i had to take a shower first. So i turned on the water and took a quick shower.” Your relationship with your sister will reveal a lot more to you…how you feel about her, do you look up to her, is the relationship close or strained? She’s looking through your computer (mind) and you become nervous that she’ll discover something you wish to keep to yourself, all the while rationalizing that there is nothing to be ashamed of. “It was really dark since it was near nighttime and the lights didn't work. I had a very creepy feeling in there but i couldn't pin point what it was, it just felt weird. I jumped out of the shower, wrapped two towels around me and ran out of the room to grab my computer. Then i woke up.” The darkness connects to and supports the idea of being unconscious and unaware of the core of the issue and how it is really impacting your life. The number two (towels) points to partnerships and the 2nd Chakra (the energy center that has to do with sex and creativity). You cover yourself before emerging to retrieve your computer. These sequences could be pointing to conflicted feelings about how sex and perhaps how you feel about a relationship that has ended. Your sister represents closeness. I think this dream is telling you to look within and reconnect with your true self and let go of old emotions and memories that you are holding on to. Once you are able to step ‘into the light’ you will be able to move on and embrace an emotionally balanced and happy life. Only you can truly determine what’s correct, but I hope this helps to give you a perspective from which you can do some good old fashioned soul searching and be more at peace with yourself. Some of us would rather think our way through a situation and are uncomfortable drowning in emotion. We often forget that emotions need to be released in order to achieve balance, and when we operate more mentally than emotionally or vice versa, we become a little lopsided. Blessings to you, ~Char.
