I also posted this in my dream journal, but I thought I'd share it in the forum too. I like dreams that bring out my creative side, especially since I don't seem to possess one in waking life. I'm working on a project for school. I'm a student but I'm not sure what school, grade, or course. My assignment is creating artful scenes using construction paper of different colors. The teacher, who reminds me of my education professor at community college, examines what I have done thus far and the different sheets of construction paper I have. I've already made something with a rhyming verse on it and a title page. The color is yellow with words written in silver glitter. The next thing I'm creating is the figure of a woman kneeling next to the Lincoln memorial in Washington D.C. The paper I use for this one is brown and I cut out the woman and the monument. I decide to make her dress blue with gold glitter. The cut out of the monument, when viewed from a side angle, resembles a bird. And it's a light yellow. end
It's interesting that you can feel creative in your dreams, but not so much in your waking life. When you wake from these dreams, do you feel the urge to be more creative?
It's weird but I don't feel the urge to be more creative, at least not in waking reality. My feeling is that I already was creative in the dream state. I've written strange diddies like poems and songs in dreams too, something I don't really have a talent for otherwise. I suppose if I had a need to be creative for a school project, either in the capacity as a student or teacher, I'd certainly take a cue from a dream if such an occasion arises.
