During the past Summer we vacationed for some days at an older motel with a pretty nice restaurant in it. The rooms were good and large, and clean, but the restaurant was really what I would call great quality. Anyway, the first night we had a fine meal served to us by a waiter who was somwhat older and better dressed than the other staff. He looked slightly familiar to me although he couldn't have been anyone I had ever met before. This was thousands of miles from where I live. After the meal I went to bed thinking of the interesting day we would have tomorrow, but then I dreamed. It was about a man, long ago and he looked like our waiter. He had nothing but he desired to own a business of his own. There was a man he knew who was very similar to a character in a book I had read once who gave deserving people money to do what they most desired. This man gave money to the man who looked like the waiter who purchased the run down business and worked every second to make something of it. In time he did. Next morning I told my wife of the strange dream and she told me that she had read something sort of similar the night before while she could not sleep. It was the story of the original owner of the motel, who at first was completely broke, no money. It was a similar story, but it did not tell how he got the money for it. I wanted to talk to somone there about my dream, but I didn't. I would sound even crazier than I was, that is what I thought! Does this all mean anything, or not? I have had strange dreams before, but not like this!
I don't think it is crazy at all. It would be natural for you to wonder why this older, better dressed waiter was doing a job where he didn't seem to fit in with the other employees who were doing the same job as him. What has happened to him in his life that made him take this job. When you say that he looked slightly familiar - it's natural to notice qualities in other people that remind us of people we know. Thoughts about the waiter and how he got to where he is may have made you think about your own future and where you are in life, and this might have influenced your dream. Was the rags to riches story your wife read about the original owner of the motel a true story? Is the owner of the motel famous? Could you have heard of the owner before?
