A friend of mine died in June of 2009 tragically by an auto accident with a Big Rig. Ever since her death she has appeared randomly in my dreams without saying anything or making any emotional actions. The first set of dreams was 8 months after her death. This second set was a last week, which was almost exactly a year after the first set. The timing of the two sets of dreams concerns me because my friend has pointed out to me that the dreams come the same time every year. I have fully accepted the fact that the deceased friend is actually gone. I don’t feel that this is a feeling of denial. I have examined the situations I was in last year around this time in my life to see if there is any significance and I can’t think of any personal issues that I am dealing with that would suggest that I am being visited as a warning to impending danger.

My question is why is she appearing when I’m not consciously thinking about her? Should I be concerned about her appearance in my dreams?

It would be normal to see your deceased friend in your dreams. Even though you aren't consciously thinking about her, she will always be in your mind somewhere.

Her not saying or doing anything could have to do with you dealing with her death. Emotionally, it's hard to know what to do or how to cope when you are grieving and that's represented by her not doing anything.

I don't know why you would think that your dream is a warning of impending danger. Do you feel frightened or nervous in the dreams?

Because of the the way she died, you could be worried about having an accident as well, so this could be your unconscious' way of reminding you to drive carefully.

That doesn't mean that something bad is going to happen, just a reminder to be careful, which you should do anyway.

Having the dreams at the same time this year and last year could just be a coincidence (it was only twice) or you could have associated the first dream with the time of year that you had it, so you had it again at the same time. Now that your friend has pointed it out, knowing that you have these dreams in February could make you have them the same time next year (self-fulfilling prophecy).
