In general my girlfriend has tons of post-apocalyptic dreams, in various forms, but seeing the apocalypse and being around afterward seem to be the main theme.

What do you think this might mean?

I have those dreams once in a while. The reason for having them can be anything from a personal struggle to a personal belief and the way of interpreting world events. For me, it's a combination of all those things. I don't believe in a biblical apocalypse, but I do think mankind has the weaponry to destroy itself, either through nuclear bombs, chemical warfare, environmental disasters that can bring about a dystopian scenario, and/or civil wars.
