Hello everyone. I had an nightmare the other night. Last night, in fact. What was odd about this one, in particular, was that, I spoke out loud. Well, whispered really. In my dream, I was in a forest with my husband, and two other people, I'm not sure who they were. And there was a house. It was two stories. Made of glass. And we found a book in the forest, it was all French. The only part I remember is that we could only figure out one part of it, which said "searching for my soul". The next part of my dream that I remember, we are back in the house, all four of us are laying in this big bed.. and I turn and look out the window and see a man in a wide hat walking towards the house. And somehow I know that he wants to kill me, because I have this book, or found this book. And i get scared. And I start asking everybody if we should go get something to arm ourselves, but nobody is moving. And my husband tells me it will be okay. But.. I am terrified. And I just kept saying, "please don't let me die," over and over and over. And the last time I said it, I actually whispered it out loud, which is what woke me up. I have had a dream before about a man in a wide hat. I don't remember anything about the dream, besides that he stood in my doorway. But I awoke crying, and made my husband take me to a hotel because I was afraid to be in that apartment. If any of you would be willing to help me interpret this dream, please do. my email is hawaiinlemonadeatyahoo.com
It sounds like you are worried about finding something out that might be upsetting to you (learning what the book in French means) and that might hurt you. A house in a dream usually represents your self, so a glass house can be a sign that you feel very vulnerable. A hat in a dream can represent a role that someone takes on in life - a police officer's hat, a chef's hat, etc. Is there anything about the hat in this, or in your other dreams about the man with the wide hat, that makes you think of a role someone has in your life? The man in the wide hat could even represent something about yourself. A hat can also be used as a disguise, which also has to do with you being worried about learing something upsetting (or someone finding out something upsetting about you).
