The dream I had last night was really bizarre. In fact, I feel like it was a continuation of a dream I had a couple days ago. So let's start from the beginning.

It begins with me on a very large ship; an oil tanker or something similar. I'm looking out at the sea and then up at the sky noticing that there aren't any stars in the sky. Someone addresses me and I rush inside. This is when I feel like a sinister presence is stalking me. And not just me, but other people as well, because the next thing I know I'm looking at frightened faces in dimly-lit rooms and whispers about a virus. In the last part of the dream I'm in a very large room with people talking amongst themselves. I think it was a cafeteria. Lastly, I'm closing a black-marbled coffin (in the same room), and someone beside me says, "No one else loved history more than him."

Onto my next dream. I'm inside an abandoned building. It's dark, very dark, apart from an ominous green glow here and there... so I look outside a nearby window and again I see a sky devoid of any stars. As I begin making my way through different rooms I hear talk about "radiation" and "monsters". Then there's a man with eyes so bright they seem to light up the entire room. He takes my hand, points to a door opposite of where I'm facing and simply nods. I go to open the door and as I do, I look back and nearly scream as I see myself laying on the ground, dead. The last thing I remember is seeing myself there crumbing -- disintegrating -- into ash.

I think these dreams have to do with facing a traumatic memory or something you haven't accepted about yourself.

The sea often symbolizes the emotions and the unconscious, so being on a dark sea with a starless sky makes me think of dark fears and secretes that you hold in your unconscious.

The "sinister presence" sounds like a part of you that you don't want to face.

Closing the coffin and the person talking about "history" makes me think of you trying to shut away something in your past and pretending that it never happened.

A virus is something that invades all of your cells, so the whispers about there being a virus are a message that this thing that bothers you is a part of you that can't be avoided.

The second dream is similar. Radiation is also something that gets into your tissues and destroys you.

The monster could be you; you have become a monster because of the "radiation" - the bad thing.

Seeing yourself dead could have to do with wishing that this bad memory or this thing about yourself that you don't want to face would just disappear (die). But death in a dream also often has to do with change and transformation, so the dream could also be saying that once you deal with everything, you will move on to a new stage in life and become a "new you."

Interesting. And I do appreciate the reply. Well, I do tend to worry a bit too much about what people say. Sometimes I'll overreact and other times I'll try and bottle it up inside. Usually if it has something to do with the past I'll convince him/her that I've changed.
