Hello all, i'm new to the forum. I'm in search for some kind of answer to this really strange dream I had. I usually have dumb dreams most of which are not worth remembering but the other night I had a crazy dream. there was a woman with a necklace w/ a pendant of saint christopher on it, she took it off her neck and wrapped it around my ankle...thats it..I dont get it AT ALL. I'm not a religous person and didnt know what saint christopher represented before I looked it up and I dont believe I've ever heard/seen of him before. Its strange. St.Christopher is supposed to represent a protector/strength. the actual pendent says St. Christopher Protect us. his story is that when he converted to christianity he was told by a hermit to help people cross a river, he help a little boy "jesus" cross the river but as they were crossing the little boy kept getting heavier and god talked to him and told him that it he was carring the wieght of the world...now..again..I didnt know this till I looked it up so Im not sure if thats supposed to mean something and again IM NOT a religous person so I really dont know why I would have a dream that included something like this. now the woman who wrapped the necklace around my ankle wasnt familiar so... I dont know..please let me know what you guys think..thanks.

Interesting. I once had a dream about the Greek god Hermes. In the dream I saw his name inscribed on a stone slab with a ray of sun beams around it and it said something like "Here lies a message about the universe." Now, I had little to no knowledge about Hermes, so I was surprised to learn from a literature professor that Hermes, among other things, was a messenger to the gods!!

I had only heard of St. Christopher, but didn't know much about him. The dreams, your and mine, could be part of what psychologist Carl Jung called the "universal unconscious." It's ancient knowledge we pick up from our ancestors that is carried in our genetic makeup, which today we know as DNA. Perhaps someone in your family tree was a devout Catholic and idolized St. Christopher.

Another explanation, and a more practical one, is that you were exposed, through some form of media, to Saints and religion. It may have even been something as simple as a crucifix on a link chain. Or perhaps someone named Christopher or Chris?

thats a great thought, Im well aware of carl jung's theory(Im getting my psych degree right now) and it makes alot of sense, my grandmother whom I lost when I was 7 was a devout Catholic..and although I didnt want to go as far as thinking a dream could be that complicated, it does make alot of sense. however the dream is still confusing to me, mostly because I don't understand why the necklace was wrapped around my ankle, thats very strange to me...as for being exposed to it through media, I cant think of anything that would have spawned this dream but then again you never know it could have been a commercial or something..who knows. Thank you for the reply though it makes alot of sense.

    You're welcome.

There's a story in one of the gospels about Jesus getting a foot wash, so there's also religious symbolism in the necklace being wrapped around the ankle.

I had a dream recently that could be interpreted as religious symbolism. I'm not religious either. I think it relates to Carl Jung and archetypes.
