I have been recently having very strange dreams. Why can I go for months without dreams and then have a week straight of incredibly strange dreams? The one that I remeber the most was 2 nights ago. I don't remember much about the beginning, but I ended up on this island/beach with my dad (we travel together a lot). The beach had bushes and some trees. It was night time. As I was looking up, I saw flashes of something. It was enormous and covered the entire sky. As it came closer, it was countless numbers of birds (the flashes were from lights that were on the island showing on the birds). I wasn't afraid at all. Many of them came and landed in the bushes. I went underneath one of the bushes and was able to walk right up to the birds to look at them. All of the birds were white, but I spotted a red one and gently picked it up. I held it for a while then it flew away and I woke up. Any ideas?
Yeah, It sounds like an awesome dream. Were you awed by the birds? Did they feel like a good omen to you? What do you think of the contrast between the white bird and the red bird? What associations can you think of for both colors? This may help you with the dream's meaning.
Yes, I was awed by the number of birds. It was incredible. The white birds seemed normal to me. I thought it was special that I spotted the red one. That I was able to see the one that was different out of all of those birds. Note sure about the colors specifically.
The dream seems like a big one, one that goes beyond the normal dream. Spiritual, perhaps. So, it wasn't that the bird was red, but just different. If you had to give the bird a personality or belief system, what type of personality would he/she have? Is the bird introverted or extroverted? What is his/her emotional state? Does it harbor any beliefs?
I would say the bird was proud of its different color. It was happy that it stood out from the rest and was excited that I noticed it from all the other birds. I think I see where you are going with this.
The scene suggests a situation in which you might see your grounds of reasoning as being very emotionally/spiritually influenced (on this island) but you could also see this as a situation in which one needs to be aware of the line between what is rational and what is purely emotional. (a beach) The situation provides you with two forms of knowledge, one reflecting a high level of intelligence (trees) and the other a lower level of intelligence (bushes). As the scene takes place at nighttime, it implies a situation in which you are not using the Lord’s intelligence. The flashes of light imply a light – knowledge or intelligence - not coming with a steady intensity and can be understood as “a warning light”. Here this warning is “highlighting” the birds. (flashes showing on the birds) The birds represent an emotional aspect of your own nature and reflect spiritual feelings and concepts. You may be seeing a situation as one in which things are “looking up” when this feeling or concept comes to you. (I was looking up and saw …) The countless numbers of birds indicates a great intensity of thought upon a feeling or concept which is coming to carry a lot of weight or influence with you. While there may be some logic to this feeling or concept (numbers of birds) there would seem to be no way of accounting for it. (countless numbers of birds) It might also simply be impossible to count upon the logic. Another point that would be significant where you see millions of birds is that the greater the number becomes, the farther away one gets from ONE which is a positive number. While you have no fear of this feeling or concept, your attention seems focused upon those in the bushes. (many came and landed in the bushes) Here this feeling is seen basing itself on knowledge reflecting a low level of intelligence. Also, while you at first look way up towards the birds, meaning you could give this feeling great respect and honour, on second view in the bushes, you need not look up so highly to this feeling. As you walk underneath the bushes, you may actually be “beating around the bush” where this particular feeling is concerned. Since the birds are all white, it implies a very innocent feeling or concept – which also means some lack of knowledge or ignorance is involved. The red bird, as there is only one of them, indicates a positive/good aspect relating to the spiritual feeling or concept represented by the flock of birds. In this case it reflects a feeling of anger, suggesting that you are dealing with a feeling or concept that should make you “see red”. You can, or need to, pick up on this anger – become more aware of this aspect regarding the feeling and hold onto this anger for a while. {Note how this last scene depicts the expression: “a bird in the hand is worth two (or in this case a million) in the bush” . As we say, ONE with God is a majority.}
Red is symbolic of life and passion - the colour of blood, while white symbolises purity and innocence. The fact that you chose the red bird could show that you want to embrace the more passionate side of your nature, and perhaps be more adventurous in your life. Birds are often sexual symbols.
