I haven't been on the website for a very long time however i had a dream that i really would love some interpretation on. I've noticed that i have lucid dreams every once in a while. They do not happen all of the time but i had one last night that i found puzzeling. When i realized i was dreaming, i wanted to explore a little. I remember i was walking in a public place and started seeing a lot of people. Some of these people i have never communicated with however just seen in social gatherings and some i have not interacted with in over a decade. Just a mixture of random people. I am a believer (although i have never researched this, it is truely my own belief) that if you see someone in your dream and have interaction with the person, your souls did actually meet. So in this dream, i wanted to test this out. I noticed that no one was making eye contact with me so i really started scanning the crowd. I figured if i made eye contact with someone, we would start interacting. To my disappointment, no one in my dream wanted to look me in the eyes. Some would side glance but that was it. So my question, am i stumbling upon something here?? If someone makes eye contact with you in a dream, is this when our souls meet?? It's completly left field but it really perked my interest in getting opinions.
What I find most interesting about this is that you couldn't make eye contact with anyone in YOUR lucid dream. It's like the characters in your dream have minds of their own. I've experienced this sort of phenomenon in lucid dreams myself. In one dream, some doctor, who had an abusive way of treating his child patients, was really pissing me off. I decided to give him a piece of my mind. He gave it right back to me in spades, telling me to piss off. I was shocked! Afterall, it was my lucid dream! I wouldn't call my interaction with this guy "two souls meeting" in the heartfelt, traditional sense. It felt more like meeting a spawn of Satan.
I wonder if the other people in your dream represent aspects of your unconscious that would be hard for you to face - the deep, dark parts of you. Your unconscious is protecting you by not letting you make eye contact with them.
