Hello, my name is Olof and I'm nearly 24 years old and quite unsure about where my life is heading at the moment.

About a month ago I had, what in my opinion would be an interesting dream. At least to me it was quite interesting.

“There’s a young girl walking along with her mother in a path. It’s kind of an old highland scenery, a bit heavy atmosphere. To the left there’s a low stone wall. Besides the stone wall there are big stones. Soon they come to a tiny village; there’s only a church and two or three houses to be seen. An old lady tells us of the story that when fog comes, the big stones by the path disappear and horsemen come riding out of the fog and take people. As the old lady finishes her story, a heavy fog starts forming and the big stones disappear. Low sound of hooves can be heard, and the mother drags her daughter into the direction of the church. The girl looks back and sees 3 dark horsemen riding into the village. At least one follows the mother and child into the church. In this part of the dream, I can feel the girls fear. The church is very dark and the girl can’t see anything, but somehow her mother is able to keep on running, trying to get away. At some point the mother looses her grip on her daughter and the girl gets locked in a room. I don’t know what happens to the mother or the villagers but the dream stays with the girl as she dies alone in that room.

Many, many years later, most likely in present time, that church becomes a school. The young girl hunts the place though no one knows that she’s there. The young girl (now a ghost) feels very lonely being surrounded by kids and no one is able to see her. Another girl comes to the school and has the ability to see the ghost. For some reason, as the other girl can see the ghost, all the other kids start to be able to see her too…”

From there I think I must have been waking up as the ghost ends up stealing a car and driving to the next town...
I'm very curious about what this dream could mean. All suggestions are appreciated

It sounds like the girl represents a part of you that you are afraid will "die" if you make the wrong choice in life - or maybe you feel that it is already dying.

From your name, it sounds like you are male. If so, then it's interesting that the character is a girl. Could she represent things that are considered more "feminine" - such as creative energy, art, imagination - as opposed to more "masculine" pursuits - logical, practical, mathematical etc.

Actually I'm a girl I'm Icelandic and my name is really written as Ólöf. I lived in Denmark for some time and I got many laughs when I told people my name as it's a male name there... very joyful indeed, LOL.

The thing about that dream is that I never really saw the things from the girl's perspective but I always followed her, though when she was dying I felt what she felt.
