ok, this is my first time to any of this..but I've been having these crazy "dreams" I guess you could call them, and it's really starting to frighten me. If anyone can help meout with this, let me know! I would really like to know whats going on!! so heres my story:

I guess about a coule weeks ago, I layed down to take a nap, I had to get up early for class and was tired so I went to take a nap. Well, I probably slept for about an hour(it seemed like MANY hours), while I was sleeping, I had this "dream"(I dont know if this is a dream or what) but I had one where I got up out of bed, but clearly saw myself laying in bed still..so I tell myself in my dream that im not really awake. I pinch my self and dont feel anything, so I lay back down where my body is and try many many many times to unsuccessfully wake up. every time I try to wake up, I see my self jumping out of bed, and everytime I pinch myself, bite myself, or hurt myself to see if I'm really awake, and each time I feel nothing. One time, I had one where I took a quick nap before my boyfriend came over for lunch. This thing happened again, but this time, I again saw myself still sleeping, but I got up anyways, went to the kitchen and started making lunch(I got everything out that I was really going to make for lunch)I then went back to my room to try to wake up..And this morning, I woke up to let my sister know I wasn't going to class. I went back to sleep and had this SAME thing happen, but this time in my "dream", I woke up, saw myself, hurt myself, got my sister and toldher, "look, I'm still sleeping there in my bed, but I'm awake..I'm going to lay back down, and you shake me as hard as you can to wake me up"..she couldn't. Everytime I hae this, I thnink I'm dead and no one knows yet and thats why I wont wake up, but i do wake up, and when i do..i literally BOLT/JUMP out of bed.

Please someone help me figure out whats going on!! my boyfriend also has this, but not as often as I do. His only happens while he is napping during the day(which he will not do now because it scares him,as it scares me very much). I believe I am having an OBE..is this right?? someone please help!!

p.s. I am not on any drugs, prescription or illegal. and I don't drink.

Yes that is what they call an Outer/Out of Body Experience. Are you in your late teens? It doesn't really matter but that's how old I was when it first started happening to me, there might be some connection with that period of life where your mind is wanting to understand more of the world and how life works and even tries to come outside its own body to have a look, just because it can.

I was terrified myself at the time, also thinking I was going to die like you. That was 20 years ago now and I'm still here. I still get this now and again but it doesn't scare me at all now. I don't know if it's because I'm used to it by now and it's become normal, or because I've seen so many other crazy things in the world that this seems almost ordinary to me? Anyway I enjoy doing this now, find myself struggling to stay outside and not wake up, which is totally the opposite of what I used to do when it first started.

All I can say is it's not deadly, there's no way whatsoever that you can die or come to any harm because of it, so long as it's not drug indused or anything which you say it isn't. If you get used to it and don't fight it you can have a lot of fun, it also shows that you are very imaginative, you can literally think outside the box.

Still, if you really do hate it at this time in your life, the best way to avoid it is to get to bed early and have a good night's sleep. Always go to bed at the same time so your body gets the proper, regulated rest it needs. OBE's occur more often when you are really tired, usually in the morning or, like your boyfriend says, when you take a nap because you are exhausted. Perhaps you've been starting your sleep at random times, staying up till 3am and sleeping a few hours one night and going to bed at 11 or 12 another night?
