Last night, I had two nightmares. Horrible ones at that! The first one, I had left my husband and two children at home to go pick up another family member. For some reason, I was driving my mother's car and I had to stop off on the side of the road to switch to my step-dad's car. While I was switching cars, three men walked up to me. One man had a gun pointed to me and another had a knife pointed at me. I told them that they could take whatever they wanted, my purse, wallet, car, anything. Then I woke up. The second dream I had, I walked into a gas station and a group of people walked in yelling at some of the employees, one man held a gun to my chest and one of the gas station employees stepped in front of the gun and me. I don't know who the man was and I don't think I saw his face, he was a stranger. Then the men and the man holding the gun left, but I woke up so afraid. Even today I am so unnerved. I just can't focus. I am so afraid to even leave my house! The feelings were so strong and the fear was overwhelming. Anyone have any ideas as to what these dreams could mean?!

Have you ever been through an experience of being attacked like this in real life? If so, something that is going on with you could be triggering flashbacks.

If not, these men who are attacking you could be aspects of your own personality - parts of yourself that you don't want to face. Think of the Jungian archetype of the Shadow.

Driving in a car can represent a journey you are taking ln life. It's interesting that in the first dream, you are being attacked when you change cars. This might have to do with changing direction in your life and fears about how this might change your.

In the second dream, you are saved by the gas station employee, who I think is also an aspect of your own personality. A gas station employee provides you with fuel (energy), so this part could have to do with having power and strength.

It's also good to remember that the physical feelings we associate with fear (pounding heart, rapid breating etc.) are also associated with expectation, excitement and elation. See if you can think of these dreams in a positive way.
