I read that the use of some herbs can help greatly when trying to have lucid dreams or with OBE's and stuff. In particular mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) and diviners sage (salvia divinorum) are supposed to be very good. In the information about ways to help have lucid dreams from the link on this site, nothing about herbs were mentioned (atleast not that I could find). I have tried both of these herbal methods with mixed results. Mugwort is supposed to be drank as a tea or placed under the pillow before sleep. Neither if these seemed to help have lucid dreams, however it seemed to make dreams more frequent and easier to remember. With what i learned from the information i read here about concentrating on dreams to make them lucid, I now hope that this herb might be far better than I first thought. I will have to try it out and see how it goes. Diviners sage was far more interesting. The leaves of the plant are supposed to be chewed or smoked to get the effect. I only ever tried smoking this herb because i was told that it was the far better way to experience its effects. I tried it twice, both times with strange results. The first time I had an experience which was very similar to what was described here as astral projection, it was very enjoyable and enlightening. The second time I was walking around my house and I could swear I was having a conversation with my friend for about 20 minutes. Afterwards I couldnt remember what we talked about so I asked him what it was that we talked about and he hadnt seen me at all the day. I found that very stange, maybe it was some kind of spiritual thing or something. Anyway has anyone else heard of these or tried to use them? Just thought I would bring them to your attention because they have made my dreaming experiences much more enjoyable.
salvia divinorum A little note on salvia .. This is a very powerful herb that in my opinon should only be used under experienced guidance and in a seeking or purpose filled setting. I smoked salvia and had a experience i will use a long time too understand(if ever) and digest. The only way i can write it is : Like having reality beeing ripped of like a bandage on a togehter grown wound that is my ego . dies. what is left is VERY interesting, and not of this world. note2: everything has a price . Artemisia vulgaris .. is related to artemisia absinthium ? I had very colorful and special dreams on this herb *SMALL SHOT OF ABSINTH LIQUER*. thujon is very bitter and poisounos in extract form . btw: hello from norway
Hello alkemist, never tried anything like that myself. It's never even occured to me actually to use anything to make my dreams different or more lucid, don't think I need them really. I guess if something happened and my dreams went away somehow I might think about it. That's a scary thought though, it would be like half of my life had disappeared if my dreams were gone.
Angelite.. I have never tried herbs for dreaming...however I did have astral voyaging and sudden revelations while wearing Rose Quartz once. I think it really enhanced my ability to connect spiritually. In addition to RQ, I have heard of Angelite being excellent for dream/astral voyages enhancing. I have recently ventured online to purchase this stone.
herbs shmerbs ;]. ive been lucid dreaming as long as i can remember. i thought it was just a normal thing that everyone did until my dad told me it happened naturally rarely. i dont really even try to lucid dream. maybe just say "whoa, im dreaming!" once something weird happens in your dream that wouldnt happen when youre awake [a flying dog, youre house in under water, etc] . good luck, may be easier said than done though.
dreams hey yall, i experimented with a minor dose of lsd before my dream and they were much more vivid visual. i later found a study online that did this to rats, and the eeg said that Theta waves were increased, theta waves are the brain waves that give visual/visionary states, and creativity. i know this may be a bit more intense then herbs but though id shrare, i have a blog that has lots of articles and pdfs on lucid dreams, my profile has my dream journal as well. i read that to increase your ability to be lucid the first step is remember or being more aware of them so a dream journal helps, i have been getting better at going into half awake half asleep, but i usually kind of lose control, i get swept away during the visions, my few lucid/sleep paralysis moments i have gotten to where i vibrated or went into hyperspace, i got too scared i got the fear bad, and shook myself back into my body.
