Hi Everyone! I am Sekhlev. It is nice to meet you all I have a question that I am interested in hearing your opinion on! I am not sure where exactly this falls under, so if I am posting this in the wrong place, please, feel free to move it to a more appropriate place. I don’t remember how long this has been happening. I would think about 5 years, that I have been noticing this pattern. I don’t know if this is a common occurrence, or not, that is why I would like to hear your opinion on it! My dreams are always been sort of strange, as much as I can recall. Maybe it is not that strange, and everyone goes through this, but to me, they seem a bit bizarre. I apologize if this turns out long, but I think I should give you a background on my dreams! When I was really young, I would have the same nightmare, night in and night out. The dream in itself is not scary, but I would wake up screaming and scared. I would dream I was in a huge room, so big that I looked tiny, and I would always be in a corner, cuddle up and scared. That’s it LoL! Anyways, after a few years of it, I got tired of waking up screaming and frightened, so one night, I thought to myself: I am not dreaming this anymore, this is stopping. ( maybe I did not use these same words, but something similar). After a few nights of me thinking this, these dreams completely stopped and I never had them anymore. Forward a lot of years, over 20 years, and I never had anything too bizarre in terms of dreams. Unless you find the fact that for at least 15 years, I’ve had the same recurrent theme: Death. But these were just dreams, and nothing else, and except for the fact that it all had death as a common theme, it never bothered me. Anyways, about 3 years, something else started happening. I developed sleep walking. This is not that uncommon, unless you register in the fact that I never slept walking when I was a kid, and it is rare to develop sleep walking at 26 years old. I don’t really sleep walk all the times, these sleep walks are related to nightmares of me being locked up in a room (sort of sounds familiar huh?) So far, I’ve had about 5 or 6 of these in maybe 3 years. Same dream, same results. I dream that I am locked up in a room, I am frantically looking for a way out, and banging on the walls, really panicking… and I wake up..and I am standing up, actually physically banging on walls or running down the hallway! LOL I once started scared my then Fiance ( my husband now), because in the middle of the night, I am banging frantically in the window, asleep! LoL Anything thing that now has been happening for maybe the past 5 or so years, is the fact that I tend to wake up in the middle of the night and see things ( this is my real question!) People, floating faces, shapes, shadows, chairs, spiders, etc. OK, as an example: Last night, I woke up in the mid of the night. No reason, I just woke up ( happens often). I wake up and open my eyes and right in front of me, slightly to the left, on top of my dresser, there is this thing. I don’t know what it is… Sort of looks like a crab claw..all bony and twisted, and it is black and/or navy blue.. It is black on the farthest part of it, and the closer to the end, it is navy blue, but very bright, but there is a source of light on it… I wake up and I see this thing, and my heart skips a beat and I am really frightened, then I make myself think: I am dreaming this! And as I think this, this thing starts receding on itself until it finally dissipates in the darkness. So, between me waking up and this thing dissipating, maybe just 20 or 30 seconds went by. Another one that happened only a few months ago. I woke up in the mid of the night, and I rollover to face my husband. Right floating on top of him, there is a faint, almost transparent face! It looks at me and I completely freak out ( in my mind, I freak out, and my heart races like crazy, and even though I want to scream, I think: Stop it! It is a dream! I close my eyes and open them a few seconds later, and it is gone. A few years ago, I had a similar experience. I was in bed, asleep and I wake up (again, lol) in the middle of the night. I rollover to face my then BF ( my husband now) and right on top of his sleeping face, I see that of a wolf, just floating right above him. It looks at me and it growls at me, and I feel very frightened and I close my eyes and I reopen them and it is gone. Anyways, this is just samples of it. Usually I see something and if it is not scary, I look at it and it dissipates right in front of me, a few seconds later. Or if it frightenes me, I close my eyes and I reopen them a few seconds later and it is gone. I tend to think that these are still stuff from my dreams ( I don’t remember any of these dreams), but maybe when I wake up in the mid of the night, I am dreaming and I wake up so sudden, that my brain still drags bits of the dreams to my waking reality, and then it just dissipates because I wake up fully?? Is this a very common occurrence? Any ideas, thoughts, would be welcome Thank you!
Hi, I think sleepwalking is pretty common at any age, especially during times of stress. Having said that I have a friend who nearly always sleepwalks when he's had a bit too much to drink. I was going to say that I never saw images like you before, but then I remembered I used to see death, the personification of it like a shadowy figure in a dark hood. It scared the bejeebers out of me, happened a few times too. I think I was bit mixed up in my head at the time, with life in general I mean - probably drank too much at that time too. I think that I saw a ghost once as well, or a ghostly figure at least. I said to it something like, "Oh just go away, I can't be bothered!" and it just sort of drifted off again. Again though, at that time in my life I was a bit messed up with drugs and drink, not horribly so but just a regular art student but I blamed my sighting on that at the time in the light of day. I think if I saw a ghost now I'd be either terrified or want to talk to it and be nice, prove to myself there is more to life that what we ordinarily see. If I was sleepwalking a lot, which has never happened to me before, I would probably go and see my doctor - or maybe a hypnotherapist or counsellor?
I understand what your going through I have been waking an seeing images for quite sometime now. Its interesting that you mention the spider because I see that more often than any other object, and yes after I watch it in terror for a while it does discipate. I have waken to see objects floating around the top of the room some that dont make any sense but it appears to be symbolic. Its always frightening though. Except for one time I saw an image of a present a box with a red ribbon rapped around it. It caught my eye and I watched it get closer to me. This time I thought "I want to see what happens" since it was something that had a more pleasant image to it. It came within a few inches of the bed and stopped and then the present(the box)slowly started to fall and it looked like little particles of light that fell over what appeared to be a person a man and I could see every detail of him through these little particles of light. He was beautiful he was the most beautiful man I had ever seen. My eyes got big and I looked at him in amazement. He had the most beautiful smile I had ever seen, then the lights slowly started to go out. I laid back in bed and wondered who this man was and what it meant he was definitly younger than I was. Does anyone know if there are any books on this kind of thing. What are these floating things. I was looking at sylvia brown on the montel show today and she said that all orbs are angels, but when i google orbs there just plain balls of light. If anyone knows what these things are called and if there are any books on them let me know thanks. You are not alone!
I am glad to hear I am not the only one thats seen the grim reaper. I woke won night to see him sitting on the weight bench next my bed in his black hoodie holding his blade. Just sitting there chillin. After I closed my eyes and opened them he was gone. I thought to myself oh great like I needed to see that! Who knows if it was real or not hopefully i just had one to many beers LOL! Hope thats all it meant.
I don't think it mean anything in a prediction sort of way. I guess your mind might be worried if you're drinking too much beer and projecting the image of death to warn you. If it is thre real death just tell him to get lost.
