I'm leaning over to take a sip of water from a water fountain when I begin to feel funny, like the feeling you get before you faint when my vision fades to darkness and I fall to the ground. I can't see anything, I can't move. All I can hear is the air rushing in and out of my lungs. Between breathes of air I can hear people talking, trying to help me. I hear someone yell " Grab the AED ( automatic external defibrillator)" and I'm thinking why do they need that I'm conscious, I'm breathing. They shock me and suddenly my vision comes back and I see people all around me for a few seconds then my vision fades to darkness again and the cycle starts all over again. I try to get the peoples attention that I'm somewhat conscious but every time I try to speak or move I can't. Then eventually after a few times of this repeating I wake up. It was one of the freakiest dreams I have had, because I swear I could feel everything as if it were real. I definitely didn't want to fall back asleep after this dream. I can't seem to figure out what it means though.
Could there be a physical reason for this dream? Maybe you aren't breathing as well as you used to at night, and your unconscious is giving you an early warning. When is the last time you have had your lungs/breathing or your heart checked? Could you have sleep apnea? The dream could also be about something in your life that is changing (it could be a good change) or about a loss you have experienced.
