I had a vivid dream Friday night, with not too many details but it was very clear and I usually do not have clear dreams. I dreamt that I was with my roommate (a good friend I’ve known for about 5 years now) and her ex bf from 2 years ago. I don’t remember where we were at but all I remember was the two of them were flirting. They both were trying to get me out of wherever we were to hook up and I blew up at the guy and told him he can’t do this again and that he better not hurt my friend. That was the last I remembered and I woke up with it still clearly in my head. I called my roommate just to get a good laugh out of it and when I told her she couldn’t believe it. She hung out with him and another friend that night (first time she has seen him in 2 years) and all of that happened.

Keep in mind – her ex lives 2 hours from us, she hasn’t seen him in 2 years, they had both moved onto other relationships, and I had no clue they were seeing each other that night.

Has anyone ever had a dream about someone and it happened the same night? – what does this all mean?

    Hi and Welcome!

Several times I've dreamed about an old friend that I haven't seen for years or several months. I end up seeing them in a store or restaurant a day or two later. The most recent example was I dreamed about a friend that lives in Florida. I haven't' seen him in about 8 years. I don't remember the dream, but except he was in it. The next day my mother tells me that she saw his mother at the bank. Nothing too earth shattering, but this happens a lot to me.

I think there's a lot about the human brain we don't know. It may be capable of sensing the future in subtle ways through dreams.
