Hey I had this dream last night in which as was at my grandmas house with my fathers side of the family. We was in the middle of a storm in which a tornado was spotted coming towards us traveling at a very slow speed.
We got our cars ready so we can jump in and drive straight off incase the tornado came closer but we never did drive away.
We all ended up taking refuge inside the house, I hid in corner of a small room and my other family member dotted around the house. I saw the tornado slowly approch and cut thorugh the house till it engulfed me. Next thing I know (still in the dream) I wake up to a huge pain in my abdomen (guessing internal injuries) while my family was perfectly fine with devistation around us. Then I woke up!

I can't make heads or tails of this as its my first dream with a tornado in it can some one explain this??

    Thanks Gav

This might sound silly, but since you woke up with an actual physical pain in your abdomen, could the dream have been about an actual physical problem. Tornado = wind = gas. Did the feeling of pain go away very quickly after you woke up? Or after you got up and walked around?

The weather in a dream can represent your emotions.

A storm, such as a tornado can be a sign of stress or pent up anger. The tornado can also represent something that is disrupting your life or is overwhelming you. You and your family trying to avoid the tornado can mean that you have been trying to avoid becoming too stressed out by something.

A house in a dream usually represents your self, your unconscious and conscious mind and all that theyare mind up of. So finding refuge in the house means that you are trying to find ways to cope mentally and emotionally with the situation.

The fact that you are engulfed by the tornado means that you can't completely avoid this difficult situation. Eventually, you are going to have to face it and deal with it.

    Sorry I should have clearer.

I didn't wake up to pain I had pain in the dream like a brusing pain but only a lot deeper like then I woke up and was completely fine.

I was knocked out by the tornado in the dream and I woke up in the dream I think that's where the confusion is, I didn't actually wake up until after seeing all my family safe.

Well, then this part of my interpretation still stands:

The pain you felt in your dream can be emotional pain, especially since it was located in your abdomen or stomach which represents your emotional center.

In waking life if you were stressed or upset about something you might feel it physically in your stomach. The same in dreams.
