Hey, I've had this dream thats recurred before about Johnny & June Carter Cash having a really good relationship. What does it mean? What do recurring dreams mean? Kris
I don't know much about Johnny and June Carter Cash, so it's hard for me to sa. What is the importance of them having a good relationship? Did they have a bad relationship in real life? Can you relate this to yourself and your relationships? Maybe if you could provide more background and the details of the dream, and some background about yourself, I could be more helpful. If there is personal stuff you don't want to post on the forum, you can always send me a PM. Here is some information on Recurring Dreams. You might especially be interested in the section under Recurring Character.
Johnny & June Carter Cash Hey, Since you say you don't know much about Mr. & Mrs. Johnny Cash, I looked it up. Their marriage lasted for 35 years & is one of the great love stories of the entertainment industry. The movie Walk the Line is about their being there for one another during the tough times. I guess the importance of them having a good relationship is that they didn't just have a great love story of how they fell in love, but that they had a great love story of how their love kept it great for all 35 years. Sounds like they did not have a bad relationship in real life. At this moment, I can't really relate this to myself and my relationships, at least not that I can remember. I would love to provide more background and the details of the dream so that you could be more helpful, but as you know with dreams, they are often fleeting, so I don't remember the background and details. Kris
Since you had to look them up, I guess you don't know that much about them either. I had the impression that you knew a lot about them. Could the dream be a pun on the name "Cash"? Maybe you would be happier and more content if you had more cash?
Johnny Cash, who died a few years ago, was a well-known country singer with a deep bass voice whose shtick included always dressing in black and working the one night he spent in jail into an identification with prisoners and other unfortunates. (His Folsom Prison Blues is genuinely good, and in a recording made at the prison you hear the inmate audience going wild with applause.) Like many performers, he had his bouts with alcohol, drugs and (as the one night in jail indicates) antisocial behavior. In time, he transcended all three. June Carter was a daughter of The Carter Family, whose specialty might be called Christian Country. Her marriage to Johnny made big news in Country & Western circles; and Johnny subsequently did a lot of performing with both her and the entire family. As Chryseis points out, their celebrity marriage lasted 35 years, in an age and at a time when one expects the average celebrity's marital history to be more on the order of seven marriages in 35 years. I have not seen the movie but, as a long-married man, I know full well you don't get through 3+ decades without a lot of storm and strife. (AS the old joke goes, Q: "Have you two ever considered divorce?" A: No. ... Murder, about once a week; but never divorce.:") I'd look for relationship issues here.
At one point, I think that I did know a lot about this Cash couple's relationship before, but as time went on, forgot it (at least consciously) & that's why I had to look it up (again).
Well relationship-wise, or romantic relationship-wise, I don't have one (right now/at the moment), so I kind of doubt that that is it.
