Hello everyone. So last night I had a very strange dream. However, I think a little background on myself might be necessary. Currently, my best friend is of the opposite sex and is currently studying abroad. Our friendships is still going strong, but it's been tough. Okay, I think that's all that's really necessary. Onto the dream: In my dream, I found out from a doctor that I had some sort of terminal illness and that I would die exactly a year from being diagnosed. I was distraught at first, but slowly came to realize that's just how life is. So I went back to campus (it wasn't any campus I recognize) and was telling a few people. In my dream, my best friend was studying abroad. I distinctly remember calling him on my cell phone and telling him I was going to die in a year, and he said he was going to stay abroad since I had some time anyways. So somehow in my dream a year passed. I was supposed to die at exactly 8:21 that night. I texted my best friend and told him that today was the day (he was still abroad) and his response was a complaint that he couldn't watch our favorite movie because his room-mate wouldn't leave. I was at this point walking across campus and ran into my mother, whom I was very pleased to see because I was starting to get upset. She told me I had to get to the hospital because they had to do tests to make sure I was definitely dying that day. I got to the hospital and had to wait around forever to get the tests. While waiting, I texted my best friend and told him I was going to call him when I was close to dying because I wanted his to be the last voice I heard. I ended up not having time for the tests. It was 8:20 and I was calling my best friend. It then turn 8:21 and we all remarked on how I didn't die. And then I woke up. If anyone can help I would be SO grateful. I still feel distraught thinking about it, but a lot of the stuff I've read says dying dreams can symbolize something good...
Hi and Welcome! Death dreams often symbolize a transition from one job to another, or a career, a college, marriage, etc. Are you in some kind of transition right now? Your friend seems complacent to your death "transition." Did he or another friend recently not offer support to you when you needed it?
