Hi all:

I’m new and had a disturbing dream this weekend and I can’t get it out of my head. I need help in interpreting it.

I dreamt I was pregnant with triplets (and I didn’t know I was pregnant) When it was time to give birth 2 died and the third was born. The Drs left the 2 dead ones inside me and never took them out. The third was a male child who was born without hands. While in the nursery my boss (who is a developmental-behavioral pediatrician) stood over the baby and said "yup that’s cerebral palsy". The dream went on with me taking care of the child as an adult without hands. The child also had Down syndrome.

I am trying to get pregnant and have been for 4 months with no luck yet. Any interpretation anyone would have would be greatly appreciated.

Since you are trying to get pregnant, I think these dreams are normal worries about things that might go wrong. Do you have any medical problems that would explain why you haven't gotten pregnant yet or that would increase the risk of problems with the pregnancy or the baby if you did get pregnant?

No medical issues that we know of. I am hoping that you are right. I just have never had a deam like that in all of my life and I am just a mess over it. Thanks for your thoughts on the dream.

Pregnant women are known to have dreams about having horribly deformed babies, giving birth to aliens, etc. Your dream could not just be about worries about something physically going wrong, but also about worries about things going wrong in your life, for example, worries about how having a baby (or not being able to have a baby) could affect your relationship.
