Dirt Funnels that Swallow up the Earth's Inhabitants

    I'm an observer of a catastrophy that seems mythical in nature. I'm overlooking a field in a desert area (I sense I'm in Australia) and see a small boy playing stickball. Suddenly out of the ground comes a huge dirt funnel that resembles a twister, but the wide open end is low to the ground and has a sinister face. It swallows the boy. Then I see more dirt funnels coming out of the ground as people run, grab their children and drive off into vehicles while these dirt funnels catch up to them. In the end, the earth's inhabitants are swallowed up by these dirt funnels.

    This dream reminded me of Stephen King's "Langoliers."

    Have you read or seen anything (books, newspapers, TV) lately that would make you think about an end-of-the-world scenario?

    Yes, interestingly enough.

    It feels sometimes that the world is going to hell. I think the dirt funnels may represent world leaders who take advantage of the common people--sending them off to fight their wars and using them for profit and political gain. They "spin" propaganda and gobble up resources.

    Yep, I think that's it! :wink:
