In 1879, a mail service in Belgium employed 37 cats to carry bundles of letters to villages around the town of Liege, this experiment was shorted-lived as the cats proved thoroughly undisciplined. :)

Dogs would have been a better choice, much easier to train. They respond quite well to whips and pepper spray.

ah,ha..may have got you there Mal..u c it wud depend on wot part of the world one was..eg; in certain parts of South America, there are 5 different breeds of llama all of which spend most of their days hiding from, you know who, in peanut plantations...they are so scared for their lifes that they wee wee themselves...hence, the other 5 types of urine sample...problem solved

Did you know, fossil footprints found in California indicate that llamas originated in North America? A great photograph of a fossil llama, approximately nine million years old, which was found in Florida, is shown on The Hall of Florida Fossils web page. The original camelids started out in North America and the animals that moved north and crossed the Bering land bridge evolved into camels, while the ones that migrated to the south became the “lama” family. Most llamas now are native to western South America, mostly Bolivia, Chile, and Peru.
