Hi, I have been working night and day for two weeks and Today was the first day trying to relax, so I had a nap on the sofa after dinner. I slept deeply and much longer than intended and had a very odd dream; "I was at my parents house and it was situated in Australia (In awake life they live in Sweden). I front of the house was a porch hanging out over the sea. I was standigt on the porch and saw at least 10 crocodiles, but also whales and dolphines and NON-water animals swiming around in the sea below me. I turned to my mother and said: "Right, I never realised that there would be so many wild animals in every place in Australia, just that Australia has many wild animals in general." As I walked into the house my parents had a big cage full of dovs and budgies and birds of prey (They do have doves and ducks in awake life.) just inside the door. The cage doors were open and the birds were sitting on stuff a bit everywhere. They were pretty tame and could be petted (I did pet them in the dream, although in real life Im not so keen on touching birds.) Then I proceeded to bake in the kitchen, making gingerbread cookies. When they were baked I dipped the cookies in melted chocholate and put them on line to dry. I fed the birds a lot of ginger bread and a lot of melted chocholate. But I had some melted chocolate left in a saucepan. For some strange reason I started to cover the biggest bird of prey in chocolate. I was careful not to cover the nostrils on his beek with chocolate. When this was done I started cleaning the kitchen - and suddenly paniced! What had I done? How cruel. What would happen when the chocolate hardened again? I took grate roles of paper and started wiping the bird and of course he bit me and pecked me, but I insisted. I could not get all the chocolate off him, it had colored in the white feathers on him and he still looked a state. He seemed pleased 'though and he was out of harms way. " That was it. Never been to Australia. We have never had a bird of prey, although my parents do keep other birds. I have not made chocolate covered gingerbread cookies in my life. Odd, is it not?
If the dream was not terrifying to you, beside being upset that you may have harmed the bird with the chocolate, then I'd say it was an escapism dream. You said you had been working day and night and took a moment to relax. I sounds to me like your brain needed a little vacation and different scenery.
The scene suggests a situation that is focused upon a mental attitude which has been misjudged. (a house in Sweden is seen on Australian grounds) As Australia seems almost at the opposite end of the world to Sweden, the a mental attitude – one pertaining to those opinions and beliefs that seemed protective of you when young and less knowledgeable – could simply be quite opposite to what it is in reality. The thinking of the mind which generally contains illusions and delusions has been extended to give the impression of being realistic. (porch outdoors) While this appears very “up front” – legitimate or honest (porch in front of the house) this extension puts you in a position to look down upon – not greatly respect – certain original spiritual concepts. (look down at sea creature below) The crocodiles, whales and dolphins may simply suggest spiritual concepts as well as instinctive spiritual inclinations that are part of your own emotional nature which can dangerous (crocodile), seemingly very big or important (whales) as well as beneficial to human reasoning (dolphins are friendly). The 3 types of water animals can also imply that certain spiritual concepts are good/godly in nature while there are others that give the impression of being very spiritual when by nature they are really not. (NON-water animals) Incidentally note the capitalization you used here. This can emphasize the importance of the “not really spiritual” idea. It seems that in relation to where you are at using your belief system (mother in Australia) you may need to realize that there are many emotional instincts that are not yet controlled by human reason. (many wild animals in Australia) The birds collectively also represent spiritual feelings or concepts of a kind that can be supported by higher consciousness (as birds fly in air). Birds that are caged can suggest spiritual feelings through which you may have been “caught”, tricked or “had” yet here it might not appear so. (the doors were open) These instinctive spiritual feelings do not seem “wild” and may seem to have responded to some human reasoning (tame) so they can be petted or favoured. While you appear to pet or favour these feelings in your Dream World, in reality when using more conscious awareness you might hesitate to do this. Baking gingerbread cookies can imply providing yourself with a food for thought which could be considered appealing to children – i.e. to the innocence or ignorance in yourself. Gingerbread can also be associated with the Gingerbread House of Hansel and Gretel. This might again suggest a mental attitude in which the innocent ones get “caught”. The bird of prey can be associated with the spiritual concept of prayer. You are perhaps embellishing this concept to make it appear as a sweeter or more desirable idea than it really is. (cover the bird in chocolate) This would not be seen as doing your emotional nature any favours. (how cruel) But in trying to correct your error, (wiping the bird) your emotional nature inclining you towards prayer may give you some trouble. (bit and pecked me) Even without the added impression of desirableness or goodness the concept as used does not seem correct. (coloured the white feathers – he looked a state). Your emotional nature can live with this end result. In other words you won’t die from the attempt to correct an error pertaining to prayer.
