I've had this dream before but I don't remember how many times before, and I think this may be part of a continuation of the dream from before...

I'm in Charleston, SC as a visitor one night and I start to go down to a place that is similar to The Battery and Fort Sumter. I'm walking around and I see all these people in the Civil War time era clothes. They are running around but my mother and I are walking around in clothes of today. We walk around, listening to what everyone talks about and we hear the Yankee soldiers talk about how they are going to take on Charleston. When we go away from them, we enter a house that houses Southern soldiers. Here I feel completely safe. I walk in and the lady tells me (that I have seen in the house before) that the house was still haunted (I remember this from a previous dream). All of a sudden a few doors shut and then open back up. I greet the ghost friendly and continue to talk to the woman named Elizabeth. She tells me that her sons are going to start fighting against the Union and she doesn't know what she's going to do with herself.

My mother asks Elizabeth were a place called Wren is. Elizabeth tells us we have to go through another dark haunted building to get there. I'm nervous about this because we have to go through the dark building. All of a sudden my mother disappears and I'm in a Civil War time Era dress myself. I look to Elizabeth and tell her that I'll go because there I can get more people on our side to fight. She smiles and I leave the safety of her home. I pass a few Southern soldiers that are imprisoned and I promise that I will let them go as soon as I return. I run down the street and see my dream guide (who is a wolf) nod in the right direction. I run that way and then I'm stopped. Elizabeth's two sons are stopped by a Yankee soldier at gun point. I step in and see what the problem is. The Yankee says that the boys are going to be charged with planning against the Union because they are Southern. I talk the Yankee out of hurting them by telling them that they wouldn't do such a thing because they had a mother they had to take care of. There was no way that they'd leave her. Luckily, the Yankee believed me and then let them go as they started to walk back in the direction that I came from but they stopped before they rounded the corner. The eldest told the youngest to return home. The eldest came up to me and took my hand then started to lead me in the direction of Wren. Before we entered the building he smiled a crooked smile and then we entered the building to run through.

As soon as that happened, I woke up. I haven't reached Wren yet. Any idea what this could mean?

I am a history buff. I'm also a History major in college.

As for what the sides mean to me, I'm not really sure. My family and I are southern and we had family that fought for the South during the Civil War. The South is my home.

Elizabeth is a family name. My mother's middle name is Elizabeth, as is mine.

And 'wren'... I have no idea. There wasn't anyone in my dream that had bird-like qualities that I can remember... and I'm not sure of anyone that has bird-like qualities either...

Well, since you are studying history and you had family that fought for the South, the setting for the dream just seems natural for you.

Since the dream takes place just before the Yankees are going to take Charleston and the fighting is to begin, and Elizabeth doesn't know what to do, maybe this dream is about an upcoming conflict or decision that you have to make that you aren't sure what to do about.

civil war dream

hi everyone i have a similar dream of the civil war that has happen to me many times already.... i am a history buff and also i am a civil war reenactor myself and i am on confederate side,,, due to my ancestor who was in civil war in 1862... i dreamed that night that i seen my great great grandfather and grandmother on the plantation here in north carolina for some reason i was asleep and i was seeing myself going there on the horse other times i rode on the covered wagon and went down the road and one of my families slaves came out with a musket at me i said to them no worry i will not harm you i am here to find harris family plantation he said you mean mr harris i said yes he said down the road. i continued on and i met my great great grandfather and he was like i had thought he looked and i just got his picture last week this was after seeing him in my dream i said thats the same face i saw and knew i was right.. there is a reason for it i told him i am from the future he sounded shocked.... i told him i was a time traveler from 21st century in the year of our lord 2012 he looked amazed at me... i didnt have clothes of that period but he looked at me they had a nice house and all that

while i was there they asked me to stay please stay with us. i said i had to go back to the future he said please come back dont leave us come stay with us here. thier hearts were broken when they learned i am thier great great grandson if the future i said do you really want me to stay here with you he said yes they do they were so serious i chose not to ignore them this has happen several times already for a few nights in a row,,,, this was something that looks to me i am being called to come back to them in the past i cant ignore it.

i know he and i must have gotten a very strong connection to them and the battles for the civil war that was coming i sensed that i am being called back to the family and he was heart broken as he watched me leave him and i promised him i will find a way to come back to him and then i will stay with him for good... he didnt say a word he was too sad i woke up and i said i saw him and i knew it would happen. and i said i am working on time travel to go back to that time which i do beleive was around 1860 or 1861 i think it was 1861 cause the war happened already in fort sumter SC i am working finding a way to go back in time to him where he is to make my home with them there on the plantation i am not afraid to do it now i have to find a way to find someone to explain this to and see about doing this... time travel is possible and does exist i want to try to do this in every way i can
