i dream alot that i'm running from something but i dont know what it is. i feel that i need to get away from it as quickly as possible. however, when i run away, it's as if i'm moving in slow motion compared to everything else. i know that i wont get away if i continue to run so slowly and i begin to panick. at some point in my life though, in these dreams i dropped down on all fours and began pulling myself with my arms and pushing with my legs. somehow this way i could outrun whatever was chasing me and my surroundings would fly by until the dream hazes out. i have read alot about how running away from something represents turmoil in life. but the twist of how i'm running away from something doesnt make any sense to me. all i know is, i feel stronger than ever in the dream when i do this. i feel like nothing can touch me or beat me.
i would greatly appreciate anyone's help on what this might mean. i have had this type of dream since i was a little kid and i have never been able to think or find what it might mean.

Dropping down on all fours seems like reverting to an "animal" type of running or to childhood crawling.

Maybe the dreams are trying to tell you that you can solve your problems by relying on your instincts, rather than trying to rationalize things.

I used to have chase dreams as well. I had them from when I was a kid, through high school. I saw what was chasing me when I was little, but at some point the dreams changed, getting scarier, and I never saw my pursuer. Your dreams sound more like those. They stopped when I realized that I was only afraid of the unkown--the future and the uncertainty it brings (they were worst in my senior year of high school so no surprise there). Are you facing anything kind of like that? Unsure of something?

As for the crawling/running, I don't know. But maybe Marcia is right. Maybe it's your brain's way of telling you to stop over-thinking the issue? Heck, maybe you just like animals better than people. XD Lol, I dunno. There is a part of the brain that regulates the more primitive emotions. Maybe that has something to do with it, Idk. :/ Good luck figuring it out if you haven't already.
