Last night I had an unusual dream, and I wonder what it means. I found myself at some sort of camp or retreat for my job and I ended up working with a girl that I had had a crush on in high school. I was the same age I am now, but she had not aged in the twenty years since we graduated. In my dream she had romantic feelings for me as well, which was not the case in real life. There was a dog there as well, a large brown and white Great Dane, that kept showing up the places that we went. At one point she was digging for something and I offered to help her look for it, so we drove into town to get some digging equiptment. The town we went to was heavily pollutted and indstrialized and before we could stop and rent any equiptment the dream ended. Can someone tell me what this means. I have not thought of this girl in many years, so I was rather surprised that I would dream about her now.

It sounds like the dream could be about wanting to return to a time in your past when things were easier for you and you had less responsibility. People get sent to work retreats to get away from the everyday responsiblities of their jobs.

The dream is also reminding you that things are never perfect. You know that in waking life, she really didn't have romantic feelings for you. That is just a fantasy.

The polluted, industrialized town represents the reality that nothing in life is prefect. (Trying to help her dig for something could have represented trying to find something that isn't there.)

Dogs are known for being faithful and dependable, so the dog that kept showing up could represent the positve things about yourself that you can always depend on no matter how bad things get.
