I have a 3 1/2 month old daughter and we recently got a video monitor for her to sleep in her room.

Last night I "woke up" and I was freaked out because she had flipped her head in the other direction and she move to the other side of the bed. I was so freaked out that she did all of this without my seeing her move that I picked up the monitor to see if the screen had flipped somehow.

Sure enough, the screen had flipped over, along with the whole monitor. I was so confused by the whole thing and as soon as I picked it up the monitor got staticky, so I figured it worked better sitting down upsidedown and tried to put it back down that way. There is no possible way for the monitor to sit that way unless it is being held. Trust me, I tried every scenario.

So, I went and got my daughter and she slept with us. The monitor went off and I am now trying to figure out how I had this wacky dream without ANY recollection of waking up. My husband even rolled over and saw me holding the monitor upsidedown after I picked it up off the nightstand.

I have somewhat frequent night terrors (where you believe something is actually happening that is terrifying but you are only dreaming it). I thought this might go in line with that same psychology.

If you have ever experienced this, PLEASE help me make sense of this. I am still a little shaken because I have never had THAT real of a dream, even in my night terrors.

Basically, I want to know if it is possible that I was asleep when looking at the monitor upsidedown, but didn't remember waking and so I thought that it was really upside down and still do...
    Thanks for your thoughts...

You may have experienced sleep paralysis or a sleep induced hallucination, brought on my overtiredness or stress. If it occurs again, make an appointment with your doctor.

    Good Luck!
