Hi, I'm new here and this will be my first post. Recently I've had a few dreams involving drinking blood. Needless to say these were nightmares. In the first one I was in the audience of some gameshow where the object of the game was to drink as much of your dog's blood as you can. That one was the grossest of the two. In the second one I'm Hause from Bonanza and Little Joe and me are in a haunted house. I keep trying to leave, but Little Joe keeps making me stay. Later out the corner of my eye I see this ghost standing there looking pretty pissed. He keeps whispering "bloody mary bloody mary bloody mary" over and over. Thats when all this blood starts dripping out my mouth and I could even taste the salt. That's about when I woke up. So is there any signifigance to dreaming about blood?
Hi and welcome, Blood is linked to the concepts of life, vitality and physical warmth. When you see blood in your dreams it is thought to be a potent symbol of energy; all dreams are more about symbolism rather than the actual image itself, so that seeing blood in your dreams is not at all the same as seeing it in waking life. It’s all to do with what your subconscious thinks blood means to you; for most of is it means life, as mentioned above, the liquid that carried oxygen around our body. It may also represent a spiritual vehicle in some dreams. It’s quite rare to have colour in dreams, even though we often seem to remember some colours, and blood is probably the largest symbol of the colour red in the world, so there may be connections there. The colour red symbolizes the vitality of energies and passion; it also has maternal connections with the womb and any anxieties associated with it. Maybe because you are drinking blood your subconscious is saying you need more vitality, more energy, more passion, more excitement, or more life experiences. You may be able to make more sense of this than I can based on what’s going on in your life at the moment; rest assured though, it doesn’t mean you have a secret passion for drinking blood. P.S. Are you a big Fight Club fan, if you like watching action movies a lot it may also reflect a need for more action in your life?
I agree with everything Maljonic says. In addition, I think whenever you have a disturbing dream about something physical, it's a good idea to get checked out by a doctor. (i.e. get a *blood* test) Sometimes it's your brain giving you an advance warning that something is slightly wrong before you actually start to feel sick.
