Last night I had a dream that I looked outside and I saw an owl in my front yard with its eyes open. However, my dream took place during the day when it was light outside. I don't remember who I was talking to in my dream but I told them there was an owl in the front yard, then I said, "There are 2 owls, wait 3, there are FIVE owls!" And I remember a few of them turned around to face me (I don't remember if all of them did or not). Then, a female duck with a long neck went waddling by (It was a regular brown female duck, not a white duck; the owls were also brown). Next, I looked at the tree I have in my front yard and there was a peacock climbing up the tree trunk with its tail feathers closed. I have read very conflicting meanings of the owl in dreams (wisdom/good things or death even when one is healthy :-? ) so I was wondering if anyone had an interpretation.
Because birds fly, in dreams they can be associated with freedom or with looking at things from a higher perspective. I associate owls with wisdom. The fact that in your dream you kept undercounting the owls makes me think the dream could be saying that you are missing something (not paying attention to something or not thinking about an important piece of information.) What I get from ducks is that they are suited to different environments - water, land and air. The dream could be about your needing to be adaptable or you needing to see things from another viewpoint. A peacock with its tail feathers closed (the colors hidden) makes me think of you not using your strengths/talents.
