A couple on nights ago I had this awful dream which has bothered me so much I found this website and joined. Perhaps someone could help me understand it.

I was in a room putting a child to bed(never seen this child before and I don't have any) he had dark hair and the most beautiful blue eyes. As I started tucking him in his eyes started to darken and his tongue grew really long. I remember feeling afraid and panicky he started growling and the only thing I could think about was to recite the lords prayer. As I did he started to return to his normal looking self. I pulled him out of the bed and got him to say the prayer also. The problem was I was so afraid of what was happening I kept messing it up and forgetting the lines and when I did he kept changing back into that dark eyed boy! Now, if anyone had the patience to read that I would value your input. Thanks

    Hi and Welcome!

That does sound like a frightening dream! Perhaps the child represents an aspect of yourself, an inner child. Were you brought up in a religious home? Is there something from your childhood that is "haunting" you? If so, this memory is coming back to haunt you in the form of a possessed child. Trying asking the child what it wanted and ask yourself why you were frightened of it. Often a frightening image in a dream represents a repressed memory that is presenting itself in another form. Was there something you felt you needed protection from as a child? Or perhaps something now that you feel threatened by. Are you seeking comfort in religion or spirituality but feel you are failing at it? This could explain the failed attempts at reciting the lord's prayer. If you are embarking on a new journey, spiritual or otherwise, this could also account for the fright. You may fear failure.
