I'm not usually one to have dreams, they happen very rarely, but when I do dream they seem extremely important. This dream was so odd and unexpected that it scared me, can anyone tell me what it means? It starts out I am dressed in woodland camoflauge and I am in an evergreen tree. The thing is that the landscape is barren and covered in snow, I and the tree are the only for miles. The snow is coming down in droves and I can barely see when suddenly I fall out of the tree and see a Caracal, or Egyptian Lynx, feasting on a piece of raw meat. I am suprised at seeing such a creature in this barren tundra most of all because instead of having a normal Caracal coat color of brown the cat is purely white as if to blend in. I decide not to disturb the preying animal and to make my way in a wide path around it when suddenly it spots me and pounces. I fall on my back and the cat becomes extremely vicious with huge sabertooth-like teeth and thick saliva dripping from it's mouth. It begins to attempt to attack me and I fend it away with my left boot while trying to kick it into submission with my right boot, all while remaining on my back. The Caracal is relentless in it's attack and begins to bite through my boot when suddenly a sphinx appears out of the snowy haze and the Caracal stops. While I look at the shining sphinx that has just appeared the Caracal seems to mysteriously disappear. I look back towards where the Caracal was and it is like nothing was ever there. I look back at the sphinx and it has also disappeared. I was traumatized from the Caracal attack but felt immediately safe when the sphinx showed up. And as quickly as it began the dream is over while I still lay in the snowy tundra with one lone tree. I have no clue what this dream was about... Can anyone shed some light on this?
I think the barren, snowy landscape represents emotions or feelings that you have been repressing. The Caracal represents the your instinctive, animalstic side. The Caracal can't express its true nature - instead of being normal brown it has urned white like the snoe. The Caracal attacking you sounds like your emotional, instinctive nature trying to fight back against the restraints that you have put against expressing yourself - the restraints placed by the rational, logical side of you. What does a Sphinx mean to you? Do you know the Riddle of the Sphinx from Oedipus?
