Seven years ago I had several dreams about Anubis. I didn't know at the time that it was Anubis but after seeing a figure of him, I believe that he is the one coming to me. I did not have any knowledge of Egyptian Gods and only knew that I was seeing a magnificent half man (body), half dog (head) figure in my dreams. These dreams were recurring for close to a year then they stopped. My purpose in bringing them to you now is because for the last several months, the memory of them is suddenly much on my mind.

In my first dream, I am standing in front of two easels, a paintbrush in my hand. To my right, sitting in a tall backed throne-like chair, is a very regal man. He is only a man from the neck down though. His entire head is shaped like that of a dog or a wolf. He is ordering me to paint his portrait on the larger of the two canvases, angry or frustrated with me because I am not painting fast enough for him. His mouth never opens once yet we are communicating. Even still, I can hear his tone of exasperation with me. " Hurry, time is short" He repeatedly says to me. He is beautiful, cold and proud in his chair. I am irritated with the tone he uses with me but also know that I dare not voice that to him. Suddenly I am no longer painting his portrait but I am working on the smaller canvas. It is then that I realize that it wasn't the portrait that he was rushing me to paint. The picture in front of me starts to take on shape and I see before me an inverted pyramid that is resting slightly above the sandy ground below. In the upper right corner there is a round sphere. At the time I called it a red sun, but have since believed it t be a blood red moon. Pleased with my work but confused at the same time, I turn to see if Anubis is also pleased with me but when I look for him, he is gone. This is when I wake up.

In my second dream, I am standing in a city courtyard of some sort. In front of me, a short distance away is a tower and on top of the tower is what appears to be a clock. I walk forward to get a closer look and realize that there is the figure of Anubis on the clock face. This time he does not communicate with me. I hear nothing but I do see 4 numbers at the N-S-E-W positions on the makeshift clock face. Above his head in the N position is the number 23. To the East is the number 35. To the South is 32 and to the West is 36. His arms are pointing to the North and to the West. The dream ends here.

As I said, I do not have any working knowledge of Egypt. I do however have a friend who has some knowledge of Egyptian Deities and she is the one that explained that it seemed to be Anubis that I was describing. She also gave me the reference for the blood red moon. Beyond that, I have not pursued trying to understand the dreams further. The fact that they remain so vivid and keep coming back to the front of my mind though has led me to at least share and see if anyone has some insight as to what my mind is trying to share. Is there anyone who might want to help me to appease my curiosity?

    Thank you!

    Interesting!

So, a half-man, half-dog "deity" gets impatient with you.

Are you in conflict with a person in authority who is making unreasonable demands of you?
