I tend to have angry dreams. Like last night I had a dream I was fighting with my sister, and I woke up wanting to punch her in the face even though she didn't actually do anything. I was yelling at her, but she wouldn't shut up. And It didn't matter how hard I tried; she just wouldn't understand or stop. Now my dream situation with her isn't far from reality, but I don't want to have to continue to deal with her in my dreams. I only see her once year now, but my mind keeps bringing up these emotions. How can I get these dreams to stop?
Well, it sounds that you have a lot of anger against your sister in waking life, and you are letting it out in your dreams. You have to let your anger out somehow, and dreams are a safe way to do it. There would only be a big problem if you became physically violent in your sleep and were a danger to yourself or someone who was with you when you are sleeping. (In that case, you would need to see a doctor.) You can think of other ways to release your anger - sports, martial arts, boxing, etc. Music, art and poetry can also be a release, if you do those kind of things. Maybe speak to a counselor about your issues with your sister. Just talking about things can help.
