Several years ago I fell in love for the first time, but had to move away from him. Night before last I had a dream about him that I'd like help interpreting. My family and I were on a trip somewhere, and we got stuck in a strange hotel. I became very bored just sitting around, so I suggested to some friends that we go out for a bikeride around the town. After a few moments of riding aimlessly around, I realized that we were in the town where I'd left my love behind. I decided that it was time to try and talk with him, and tell him what a difference he'd made in my life. When My friends and I arrived infront of his house, three boys and an elderly lady were all talking on the front porch, and then the boys left. I asked the lady if Nick still lived there, and she said yes, and told me he was one of the guys who had just left. I asked where he'd gone, and she said to the river to go fishing. So we went after him. We got lost on the way, and a large, wolf-like black dog seemed to be leading us. When I noticed it glowering hungrily at us with angry red eyes, I decided it wasn't safe to follow the dog anymore, so we went on our own way. We made it to a walled in area, where for some reason, I could tell that the guys who had left the house were in there. We waited outside the walls until one of the boys came out, the youngest. When asked about Nick, he said that Nick was his older brother, and he should be coming out soon. Another came out, but it wasn't Nick. We waited awhile longer until he did come out, and then I walked up to talk to him. I told him who I was and he looked at me, very confused and said, "Sorry, but I don't remember you." Any idea what that could mean? Please helpif you can.
The black wolf-dog could represent your fear of either self-discovery or what you may find on your travels in trying to locate your lost love. I get the impression that you do want to try and find him, is this correct? I also sense that you feel right now that your life is "aimless," judging from the term used to describe the bike ride (a metaphor for life's journey). The elderly lady and boys could represent family. Do you feel family sometimes gets in the way of your life's goals or ambitions---it could be your family or someone else's? Your lost love's perhaps? Going to the river to fish could mean a quest--either spiritual or in search of a lost or new love. It's interesting too that you described the wolf-dog as having hungry eyes. Do you feel a kinship with the wolf-dog in any way?
As a matter of fact, I would like to find him. And I do feel that family is getting in the way. And I do feel a kinship with the wolf, because there are often wolves in my dreams, usually a white one that is teaching me or leading me, and this one looked like him before I saw his eyes.
