My husband was killed in an accident 7 ½ months ago and my sister passed away 7 days later (deaths unrelated). Unfortunately, I haven’t really dreamed much of either of them – however last night I had a dream so vivid I can’t stop thinking about it – my husband and I were walking up a steep bridge holding hands – we got to the top and almost made it to the bottom – then I slipped and was hanging on to the side for dear life. I looked directly into his face and it was blank – a woman was standing behind him and started to come toward me – at that time my husband grabbed my hand to pull me up. Then I woke up – any idea what this might mean (if anything). Thank you.

Do you mean his face, well, had no face? And who was the woman? Did you get a sense about her?

It was definitely his face - just a blank stare (no emotion at all). I think the woman could have possibly been my sister or perhaps my mother (both deceased.) Thanks for helping me with this - I still can't stop thinking about it.

My sympathies about the loss of your husband and sister.

Bridges in dreams can represent a cross-over, not necessarily a death (although that's part of it) but a symbol for a life transition. You the living are hanging on on the bridge. This could be a metaphor for how your felt and may still be experiencing dealing with the death of your loved ones. Sometimes you feel like you are just "hanging on."

Your husband helps you up. This in itself is an important cross-over. You are beginning to embark on a new life transition. The memory of your husband will sustain you. He is here in spirit to help you accomplish this.

I'm not sure about the blank expression. It could symbolize his death. Sometimes when people dream of those who have passed on, they do not speak or physically communicate.
