My mom has been gone for 2 years now. I miss her terribly. I have never dreamt of her until the other night. I was at someones house no clue who and the phone rang. It was for me and it was my mom she asked me where I was because she was waiting for me. I told the people where I was I had to go. All I could hear after that was Lorrie I am waiting for you. Any clue what it means?
There's the obvious conclusion that some might jump to of thinking it means waiting for you in the afterlife, but I think those types of dreams most often happen much closer after someone has died Usually though, different people in your dreams represent different aspects of yourself or a point of view that that person represents to you. Your unconscious, dreaming mind doesn't put much significance on whether or not the person is still alive, or even real in cases where movie stars are dreamed of - but just uses however you feel about that person to give you a certain message. Say if there was a serious message in the dream there might be someone you think of as very serious in waking life telling you something. So whatever types of feelings your mom has connected to her for you, which in most cases would be caring/nurturing, would most likely be the type of intent the dream has - ie caring for and nurturing you and/or your future. Obviously there are other feelings attached to mothers such as love, rules, guidance etc... So anyway, perhaps there is something you feel you could be doing to further your life along and the representation of your mother is used to ask what's holding you up? Or, if this is the first dream you've had with her in it like you say, it could just be saying that she's always in your thoughts and there to give you that type of guidance in your dreams if you need it.
