Hi All...new here, but thought you could help. My brother called me quite upset about a dream he had, and he is not a person who is easily spooked.

    It was a short dream:

He had a dream that our mother, who passed away 1.5 yrs ago came to him with a baby in her arms. She told him that he HAD to take this baby, that it needed his help. She handed him a little girl and told him she knew he would take good care of her, and that her name was Ocean.

If it's important, he had a very good relationship with Mom, and another brother of ours is expecting a child in December.

Let me know if you have any thoughts, it would be appreciated.

Dreaming of someone who died as well as a new baby could stand for change and the start of something new. It makes me think of the personifications of the Old Year and New Year on New Year's Day, with the Old Year dying to make way for the baby New Year. The baby could stand for the baby that your other brother is expecting, or for any new project that will involve a lot of care (a work project, for example). I think the mother in the dream is a representation of the part of your brother's mind that tries to make him behave sensibly and wisely.

The name Ocean makes me think of an ocean voyage, which once again relates to the beginning of a new endeavour.
