my dream me and a bunch of people were at the south street seaport,it was like 4th of july.i kept watching these 3 little kids that kept running around and all of a sudden they jump into the river and swam around. all of a sudden they go under the water, and as they do there was a reflection in the shape of a bright shiny cross in the water,it was night time but yet there was no moon, but the sun was there kind of like when you see a sunrise, but instead of the sun being orange it was blood red and smokey. The sun was about a mile away from all of us so we could actually feel the intense heat, and as the sun was coming up we all heard this weird satanic music playing..,there was panic and pandamonium people running and screaming that this was the end of the world, hell is coming for us,the devil is coming for us.After that i tried to force myself awake but it was no use,i felt as if i was handcuffed to my bed like something was holding me down,my eyes wouldn't open and all i could see was what was in my dream. Can anyone please help me ?because i have no idea what it could mean.Thank you in advance. :scared:
First of all, you should never be scared by a dream because your dream is made by your own mind; it is your unconscious mind trying to send you a message, so even a frightening dream can help you. All of this negative religious imagery sounds to me like you are possibly feeling guilty about something or maybe worried that something you did will be found out and you will be punished. That doesn't mean that you actually did anything terribly wrong or that you should be punished, just that unconsciously you are feeling guilty. I am curious what your thoughts are about religion, the devil, etc. are in waking life. Have you seen anything/read anything lately that might have influenced you? Children could represent your past. What does the South Street Seaport mean to you, if anything? To be honest, your dream kind of sounds like a bad horror movie - maybe if you have the same or a similar dream in the future you can keep that in mind and see the humour of it and then it won't be so frightening.
Very disturbibg dream Thank u for getting back at me.Well as far as feeling guilty about anything i dont,so i really don't have a clue as to why i would even have a dream like that. All i know is that it felt so real.As far as religion goes i'm not very religious at all,but i have read up on so many different ones to have more or less an idea what it entails.I did watch the excorcsim of Emily Rose the night before but i doubt that would cause my mind to run wild in that way lol.The South Street Seaport does mean alot to me mostly because i was born and raised in NYC and me and my familiy would always go there during the summer. It's real pretty with all the llights from the bridges and the water surrounding it,so i guess naturally my dream would bring me to some place that i'm familiar with.I'm glad you didnt think i was going crazy or something lol.I've told this dream to some of my friends and thier reply was" stop watching so much tv" or something stupid like that. It's weird though how i was able to recall this particular dream but yet i can never remember any of the other dreams i have had,i wonder why that is?
I do agree with your friends that watching that show the night before probably influenced your dream but there is probably some personal stuff in their as well.
I don't know could be,and as far as personal issues go well I in the middle of a divorce and I'm actually thrilled about it,most women would be I guess heartbroken but not me.But I doubt that has anything to do with it
The dream suggests a situation in which there is a considerable aspect of yourself (me and a bunch of people) that sees a cause for celebration and pleasure. (it was like a 4th of July). This seems confirmed by the location, the south street sea port since you mentioned in a later post that you and your family went there during the summer (where I assume you did enjoy yourself). [Note how this can refer to your statement also in a later post: “I am in the middle of a divorce and I’m thrilled about it.”] The proximity to water would indicate a situation to be seen in relation to spiritual thinking. The children represent an aspect of your mind that is very innocent and thus also lacking in adult knowledge and intelligence. Were your innocence sees a place - or a time – for celebration, the situation appears to be treated as if all fun and games. (the children kept running around) This can imply having no serious importance or consequences. The 3 children would suggest an innocence that is good or Godly. Thus the dream can be implying that where innocent thinking is Godly and may begin with fun and games in mind, it does end up “jumping into the river”, that is, getting into a spiritual course of action. Going under the water implies being “covered” or justified by spiritual thinking. Here this happens when innocent thinking takes the form of a cross. (all of a sudden they go under the water, and as they do there was a reflection in the shape of a bright shiny cross in the water) This would imply taking the form of Christian thinking. “A bright shiny Cross” tends to imply that there is light seen coming from the cross; meaning there is intelligence in the idea of Christianity. The fact that it is night time implies that in a situation where there appears cause for celebration, the light or intelligence of God is not being used as there would be no sunlight. Yet in your mind the intelligence of God is being seen and used rather than the more realistic light of the moon. (“there was no moon”) A sun as at sunrise would imply a situation in which there appears to be a dawning of awareness but there may be anger associated with it. (a red sun), perhaps because “the heat is on” now. This new awareness brings an increase in pressure upon the Self. As the sun is also a symbol of God, the red sun could also suggest the anger of God and the smoky appearance could indicate some danger to come. A rising sun could refer to your dawning awareness about God, Himself. As a rising sun turns night into day, it could symbolize the coming “Day of the Lord” which may be closer than we might think. (the sun was about a mile away) {Spiritually, the scene bears some resemblance to a passage from The Book of Joel, Joel 2:30 – 31.] Music can represent spiritual harmony or the atmosphere of love which seems here to be working on Satan’s behalf. (heard Satanic music) The devil can very simply refer to an idea that is not in obedience to God. There is an aspect of yourself that would respond with great fear to the presence of such an idea. (panic and pandemonium people running and screaming) “The end of the world” also seems here to suggest the Day of the Lord and His judgment. The direct spiritual imagery seen in the scene would seem to indicate that at least on a subconscious level (i.e. on the dream level) you may be more influenced by religious thinking than you want to think you are when fully conscious. This point is emphasized by being unable to “wake up”, unable to become fully conscious when presumable this spiritual imagery would vanish. You may need to be forced into thinking in these terms. Being handcuffed to the bed and held down implies being kept in a position associated with sleep and dreaming. Your own emotional nature will not allow your eyes to open – perhaps because your understanding and beliefs (the eye) only show you a reality created by the conscious mind when awake – one which does not focus on spiritual realities. The dream itself could be regarded as a spiritual wake up call.
