I had a very clear and unusual dream lastnight and I'm desperate to know it's meaning.

    here it is:

I was sleeping in bed in my apartment when my girlfriend and her friend came home. it was late at night probably around midnight or so. In the apartment was an old man with short white hair in a brown trenchcoat trying on my girlfriends and her friends shoes. My girlfriend and her friend both freaked out and scared the man out of the apartment. I woke up and chased him down to the parking lot. He was standing next to a big black SUV. when I approached him I said "you better leave or I'll contact the Authorities" at which point he fell to his knees and started yelling. He opened the drivers side door of the car and pulled out a gun. It was very clear. it was a silver revolver. He shot and I could feel a hot stingy pain in my chest. I tried to run but I feel. for some reason I saw his license plate on his car. The license plate was red at the top, white in the middle and blue at the bottom. on the plate were the numbers "259-4444" I attempted to crawl up the stairs back to the apartment. Everything was getting very blury and what have you almost as if I were actually dying. I looked down at my chest and saw that I was shot on my left side of my chest, almost above my heart. while I was trying to get back into my apartment I was screaming my sisters name over and over, she wasn't even in the dream. Finally my girlfriend and her friend came to my side. I looked over and my girlfriends friend and said to her "remember these numbers 259-4444" and then I "died", it faded to white, not black.

So this dream has seriously freaked me out and I would love to know what it means. unlike other dreams i've had this one was extremely clear, almost as if I weren't dreaming at all.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks.

    Hi and Welcome!

I see a lot of symbols in this dream. A strange man is putting on woman's shoes. This could be a contrast between masculine and feminine or related to that expression, "walking in someone else's shoes." Do these mean anything to you?

Then the man shoots you near the heart. Have you suffered an emotional crisis of the heart recently?

The licence plate is interesting. The numbers are like a phone number. Do you feel you need to make a phone call to someone? To make an apology or take care of something important?

The colors on the plate are colors on the American and British flags. What country are you from? Does your country's flag contain these colors?

do you think the dream could have a political meaning?

    Thanks for the response.

as far as walking in someone elses shoes. no not really. nothing comes to mind regarding that. I haven't suffered an emotional crisis recently. As far as the licence plate is concerned, as far as calling someone there really isn't anyone i need to call. Would those specific numbers mean anything? i don't know if specific numbers in a dream mean anything or what.

For the colors I was actually born in England and now i'm living in the US. I doubt the dream has a political meaning.

I mean the dream could possible just be random and that's it. But I think there are just too many symbols in the dream to just brush it off. It felt like it head purpose or meaning. Also I had the dream very early in my sleep, within the first two hours or so. I was always under the impression that dreams occur later in sleep, like before you wake up. I could be mistaken, i'm by no means an expert.

    You're welcome.

Dreams do occur early in sleep as well. I've had plenty of them myself. I'll wake up and write it down, when I'm ambitious enough. It's a dream that really sparks my imagination and wonderment that makes me want to write it down at that hour. :)

As far as my interpretation of yours, sometimes I calls them correct, and sometimes I'm way off. The latter is one of those.

Sorry about that. The best advice I can give now is for you to look at each symbol---the stranger, the shoes, the colors, the numbers, etc. and try to determine what they mean to you. Do an association with each item, for example, the stranger may have reminded you of that weird uncle, and so forth.

Try this and you may come up with a meaning for the dream.
    Good Luck!
