In my dream last night, I remember climbing a tall ladder and sitting on somekind of tiny seat at the top. At first I thought there was somebody else up there, but I can't remeber who and then it was just me. I could look down and it was far.

Suddenly, someone from below let a small dog climb up and he crawled under my arm. At this point, I started to feel very scared of falling off. I was holding on to another pole made out of wood 4x4's nailed together. I remember that the wood pole was not very sturdy, but was keeping me steady enough. I remember saying "I need help." Someone from below answered me sarcastically, "right, you need help."

    That was it. Any ideas?

I had a similar dream years ago where I was at the very top of a giant redwood tree, hundreds of feet in the air, and my friend Neil was up there with me. He was freaking out because he's scared of heights, I thought he was going to make us both fall down. I can't remember what I was doing in my waking life at the time so I'm not sure what it meant exactly.

I guess in your case there could be a connection with the ladder and things are achieving in your life. Perhaps you feel you've accomplished something but you are worried that a friend might spoil it somehow - make you come back down some of the way. Also it could be that you do feel a need for help with your current situation because you're doing more things than you're used to?

It's hard to say without knowing what you're doing in waking life, maybe some of what I wrote makes sense? :)

It could be that you have accomplished some things in life. Maybe you have even accomplished more than your friends. So now that you have accomplished your goals you feel all alone. And there is noone you can turn to anymore.

It seems like you may not feel that you can ask your friends for help because you have always been the achiever and the one who never needed help. In addition, they may not understand or even take your needs seriously because you have far exceeded their expectations and your own.

Thank you both for your thoughts.

I think you hit it on the head Ponderer. The past year or so I've told a few people that I needed to come up with new goals because I reached the ones I set already.

I am a freelance artist and I work part-time for an airline. Married with no kids. Nice modest home, cable internet, dish network with dvr. I need new goals. Very interesting interpretation of my dream. Thanx again.
