August 20th, 1989 night of a lunar eclipse - not sure if it matters - I had a dream that, upon waking, prompted me to ring up a friend of mine Dane Higgins, from Phoenix AZ, who was a missionary and living in town at the time. I rang him up and told him I had to tell him about the dream I'd just had (I hadn't even gotten out of bed yet), this is what I told him:
I was walking through a what I first thought was a mall. It had 2 levels and people were milling about on both levels, I was on the lower floor. It was quiet. I did not hear the usual sounds that come with a mall or with many people in one area. I found myself standing at the bottom of an escalator and the people around, up and down, begin to fade into a mist or a mist had covered them. Myself, the escalator, and a young man was all that remained. He was at the top of the escalator, it lit up as he came down toward me. He wore a suit of light grey and when he stood next to me he smiled. We communicated but we did not speak words and I don't recall hearing words in my head but I knew what he was saying:
His name was Drew and he was 17 years old. We walked and the next few steps saw us on a street suddenly. There were homes on either side.
We stopped outside a home with a big bay window. Outside the home construction was being done to the ditch, a camper trailer stood at the back of the drive to the left of the home. For some reason I was climbing "through" the bay window where a dark blue, plush couch sat and I climbed onto and then over this couch and sat on it's cushions. Drew was already inside standing to my left, about 10 feet away and next to a glowing yellow light. All around me were pictures in frames of every size, all over most of the walls and there was a bowl of candy on a little table to the upper right of where I sat.
That was my dream. Nothing special, nothing out of this world, but when I woke up I had to call Dane. I told him my dream and he said he'd call me back later and hung up. When he phoned back he said he had something to tell me. 17 years prior, Dane's mom gave birth to a boy who she named Drew. He died the same day. Outside their home at the time of the dream work was being done to the ditch and a camper trailer sat where I dreamt it was. Their home had a huge bay window and there was a plush blue couch along it. they had many many pictures on all their walls in this room because their 7 or 8 children had grown up ( Drew would have been the yougest ), and the pics were of all the kids throughout all the school years, plus various family shots. The yellow glow I described made sense; the kitchen doorway was to the upper left and they had painted it bright yellow. When the light was on or the sun was bright enough, the kitchen walls cast a yellow glow you could see when on the couch. there was a bowl of candy where I'd seen it too.
This is 100% true. Sites like this one are important and it's crappy when/if people abuse them by telling false tales. I've lost contact with the Higgins' through an unfortunate situation but, before Dane went home his mom wanted to meet me so she flew out to where I was living and where Dane was flying home from, and we talked about my dream.

That was an interesting dream. I'm impressed that you remember a dream that you had so long ago so clearly. Do you usually write down your dreams right after you wake up, so you remember them? If you did, I'm impressed that you were able to find the piece of paper after 16 years. (Maybe you could help me organise my house?)

I am curious why you are posting this now. Is something in your life going on that has made it become important to you now?

I am also curious why you felt you had to tell this man, Dane Higgins about your dream, first, as opposed to someone who was living in your home with you, a family member or friend.

Did you ever get to see a photograph of the house that was as you described it in the dream?

By the way, the lunar eclipse in 1989 was on August 17, not August 20. NASA has a chart here

    you are very observant!

To answer your questions I'd have to say yes to them all. I've been reading ghost stories on various sites and things happened in that house that were so disturbing...funny how a person can have faith, or believe in something (god(s), ghosts, angels etc., ), without having any proof and then when something like seeing a ghost or things go flying through the air, suddenly that same person is stunned, maybe having a hard time believing what they saw. Yes, I do write down my dreams but I've only done so in the last three years. This dream will be with me for as long as I live for several reasons: It was so clear, so real, as if it was/is more like a memory than a dream. Myself and my young daughter were the only ones living in the house at the time. She too, along with two other people witnessed some of the disturbing events, but at 5 yrs she was too young to be interested in my dream. The man, Dane, who I phoned, was a lover of mine. I felt guilty after he called back, after he spoke with his mom because he was a missionary... our relationship was not permitted as far as his religious beliefs go and I've always felt a twinge of guilt because I certainly saw him as a challenge..ah, to be 20 something again!
But I digress. Thank you for correcting the date. Thought the dream is clear to this day, I mixed up the dates. We moved out of that house on the 20th.
Another reason why I felt the need to post this dream now, 16 years later, besides just finding this site and being inspired to share my experience, is because my husband is dying. He's older than me but only by 15 years and at 52 he's battled prostate cancer; and beat it after having it removed, then three months or so ago we found out he has three tumors between his liver and his pancreas. The doctors can't get them as they are in the absolute worst place they could be and they said he would not get up off the table if the operated. We've talked about him trying to contact me through dreams, especially since I had that dream about Drew, we thought maybe my husband could try the same route so to speak. No, I never saw a picture of that house.
Several years ago when a group of us were sitting around telling each other about experiences we'd had, someone in our group said that my dream may not have been a dream at all. He said, knowing the relationship I'd had with Dane, that maybe a darker force was actually responsible for the dream; seeing how I'd already defrocked a missionary maybe getting that missionary to believe in something other than his church's teachings was the purpose behind it. I did not agree. As amazing as this dream turned out to be, I wasn't going to believe there was some "dark force" behind it, that seemed way to dramatic.

I'm very sorry to hear what your husband is going through. I agree that the dream was not caused by a dark force, I don't think you were being punished for having a relationship with a missionary. You can't be punished for your feelings. If anyone would be able to communicate with you through dreams, it would be your husband.

    Take care.
